I love how skunks are basically just fat martens with access to chemical weapons. Also, they're distantly related to dogs because of course they are.

What are your little skunks up to now? I assume that they are big skunks, and possibly have matured, mated, moved on. Update?

The male went off after a couple of weeks on their own. The female would come back every night for treats and a rub for almost a year, though the visits would get shorter and days between would grow. Ever once in a while I think I might see her while walking the dogs before daylight, but not sure that it is her or another.

Skunks aren't as prone to spraying as you might think. If they are seriously attacked, like something actually grabs hold of them, then they will spray. Now obviously they bonded with the OP, so him playing with them isn't going to get him sprayed.
