Yet another win for retail development. I would figure a trolley like this would be a perfect mode of transportation for a developed area. Thanks for sharing Mike!
I hope that the trolley is relocated to the Orange Empire Railway Museum where it can join the ranks of the other Pacific Electric trolleys that are still in operational and running order over there.
+TheOnlyBongo As do some at the OERM but at this time there are no official plans to get them. I have heard that there is sadly a high chance they will end up at Travel Town.
Great video, too bad they have to shut down the line, it will be missed. At least I got a video of it before it's closure (back in February). If you want to see it I believe it's called "Pacific Electric - 2/2015." I'll try to get a video of it today if I can, otherwise that's the one and only video of Pacific Electric you'll probably ever see.
Our group at the Western Railway Museum in Suisun City is very interested in acquiring one of the replica cars used on this line, if operation is in fact to be discontinued. I would hate to have those cars leave before the line has a chance to reopen. Who knows, maybe a wave of public support will sway the city to reroute the trolley line as planned, but if worse comes to worse, these cars will find a good home.
+SierraRailway Just make sure they don't end up in another infamous "Streetcar Scrapyard Stack". That would be an even bigger tragedy. Let's hope they can be saved in a good home somewhere.
Too bad to see it go, but ports are always expanding and progressing. Hopefully another part of public transit will take it's place to service the people of Los Angeles. Where I live on the East Coast of Canada they took the trolleys out just after the Second World War.
+CoasterFan2105 Thanks for the response Mike, I probably won't make it out there in time. Here's to hoping the line will be preserved somewhere, more than likely at the Orange Empire Museum
Shameful and terrible to get rid of history. Isn't there a law in CA that saves historic sites and pieces like in other states? Also the PE cars would work great on Laurel line as PE and the LW&V had the same equipment for the most part.
hey guys I heard that sometime in the near future Metro will add 2 lines one from Long Beach to San Pedro and the other from L.A. to San Pedro via the 110fwy, does anyone in here knows of such plans? this I heard from a Metro blue line conductor
Why did they sell heritage to some property developers; surely that is morally wrong- I take it they haven't given the railway a new place/compensation. I would've loved to see it if I ever went to 'Murica
+Stan Fay The city of Los Angeles owns the trolley and they are also the ones relocating the road. Originally, there was going to be a provision for rerouting the trolley, but it was later dropped.

+Weldy Media Productions At least they won't the public can still see them. They should donate one of them to San Fransisco's MUNI system.
Oh no! not Travel Town. That means they'll sit there and not move. Better OERM where they can move and be taken care of.
Any news on what happened to 1058 and the replica cars? I'm also hoping they went to the OERM instead of Travel Town...or worse, scrapped.
Yes!!!🤗🤗🤗
Bring it,
we can film the move
I wish i knew, I’d love to go ride this

I do like your videos keep going P.S I like your Amtrak videos :)
So it stopped working Mike if it has gone bankrupt it had good service thanks for this video keep on Redding!😃
Excellent video, Mike! I've never really cared much for trolleys, but its still a shame to see something like this go.
Nice video!!!
+LoadsofTrains Thanks!
CoasterFan2105 no prob!
Hope they can keep this in operation
It is a pity, if will disappear forever ...
The Red Cars are still in the tent at 22nd and Miner St. They will not be burned.

Well they did say in 2016 that it would be brought back after the redevelopment is complete. Time will only tell.
Do you know when the line will shut down? Hoping to get out here to see the line once before it closes
+TFN5459 This Sunday is the last day it runs. After that, it will be shut down indefinitely.
+CoasterFan2105 Thanks for the response Mike, I probably won't make it out there in time. Here's to hoping the line will be preserved somewhere, more than likely at the Orange Empire Museum
+CoasterFan2105 will you be there
+Gram Nylen Unfortunately, I will not be there. That's why I made sure to film this video this summer before the shutdown.
+CoasterFan2105 the red car got extended another 30 days so it still has some days left
red cars should be coming back to San Pedro,ca at same point right ?
They are trying to bring them back but not much to report yet.
@@CoasterFan2105 They SHOULD bring them back!
Классная техника.
Also what time is the last train? 8pm?
Sunday and the last train is at 8:00 and I will be there
Are they getting rid of the engine?
+LoadsofTrains No decision has been made yet as to what they intend to do with the trolley cars.
CoasterFan2105 ok
When Is The San Pedro Trolley Coming Back?
Shameful and terrible to get rid of history. Isn't there a law in CA that saves historic sites and pieces like in other states? Also the PE cars would work great on Laurel line as PE and the LW&V had the same equipment for the most part.
Pretty sure that these cars actually aren't real and are just real good exact replicas.
+DatSonicAce the one is real. The other is a replica.
+Matt`s Mocs oh I see. But I do believe the real car isn't original and has been converted to a different car than it used to be
+DatSonicAce nope it it is a exact. It has new glass and electric systems but the rest is original to builder
I was disappointed that someone asholl touch the train out in Port a call

+The Noid Search for the phrase "la metro future lines map" on google images. There are a bunch of maps of planned light rail lines.
CoasterFan2105 cool thanks for the heads up sir
Arnt their 2 trolley cars?
+Surfliner486 They have three trolleys, two replicas and one original. The 1058 is an original PE car(not an original 1000 class though).

Time Ran Out for This Old Trolley
The cars are still there and most of the track the cats are just sitting in the barn waiting to be burned
+Gram Nylen A sad end for a very nice trolley line. It will be missed.
me too
I still absolutely don't know why they took this out of service
Hope Portsacall leaves , very dissatisfied
LOOK Ma , NO SMOG 😃
