Totally agree that the way they portrayed Trey is drastically different from JP to EN. ENs portrayal of Trey downplayed a lot of his intentions as an upperclassman who wanted to avoid any unnecessary outbursts between Riddle and the rest of the members because he would be left to mitigate the damage. This would explain why in the EN version, he limited his interventions as an extension of his vice house warden duties when Riddle would go too far. JP Trey didn't scold Riddle because it was coming from a place of regret that he couldn't do more for him as a friend. That was made more evident when Riddle was in disbelief when Trey used Doodle Suit to stop him from collaring all the students in Heartslabyul before his overblot. Riddle claimed that he and Trey upheld the rules together, further hinting that Trey was turning a blind eye for his sake while in the EN translation, Riddle more than likely hinted that because Trey didn't do anything sooner, that meant Riddle was in the right when it came to upholding the rules. That was why I found it more impactful when JP Riddle said he was, 'still enduring' the consequences of what it meant to abide by the rules rather than EN Riddle asking if they knew how much he has 'suffered' in order to be in a position where he'd have to uphold them. Just my take on it at least. Thank you for making a video on some of the dialogue changes because I've always held their friendship in such high regard but the EN version really made it seem like Trey did stuff out of obligation rather than concern for Riddle.
I wonder if the change in regards to what happened to Trey and Riddle as kids, is something more along the lines of wanting to repress that and shifting the blame to something else. In a matter that Trey could never see Riddle as the bad guy, but relations to Riddle's mother, to him, is like saying it's Riddle's fault. Because to the scene of Trey saying his family gave him the talk, yet admits later in Book one on not putting his foot down with Riddle sooner. I don't know personally, just a thought to throw out there. Same for the other examples that are exploring different sides of a character, while adding some commentary to it like with the Starry event and such. Honestly though, this is very neat of a deep dive here! XD

I do hope the translations will be corrected akin to the JP meanings for EN players. Maybe double proof-read it too?
Or get translators who will stick to the original source material.
