In this video, I demonstrate the following: 1. How to use each of the drag modes in Logic Pro for moving and editing audio and MIDI regions. 2. How to create batch crossfades with a shortcut, and adjust default crossfade time. 3. How to edit narration/dialog recordings with shuffle modes and shortcuts. If Apple hasn't offered you a job to help with future Logic Pro releases they are crazy. It's as if you've developed the software. By far, you put out some of the best tutorials for Logic Pro X. I've been using Reason for years but switched to Logic a few months ago. I love it. Very intuitive, but I haven't even scratched the surface. You've helped me with a lot. I told my wife this tutorial was like receiving manna from heaven. Last night I was trying to figure out some of the things you touched on in this tutorial. Thank you. Dahrk Sity
I've really been enjoying catching up with your series but, as someone with a podcast, this might be the most valuable episode yet! I did not know about shuffle modes, and have not been using the marquee tool like I should. Thanks!
OMG, thank you for teaching this! I recently switched from Pro Tools to Logic Pro x and I've been doing all my editing in x-fade mode and it's been a pain in the ass doing small little adjustments and editing to vocals because they just start layering over each other. Looks like No overlap mode is more like how Pro Tools operates when editing audio files. this will make life a little easier now.
Would love to see a future video (and you may already have this scheduled) on your Audio Settings specifically Processing Threads, Process Buffer Range and Multithreading. I know there has been a debate on whether to keep your Processing Threads on Automatic vs your max Cores, and would love to hear you weigh in on some of those. Thank you for all your work, these videos are always excellent.

Thanks for explaining shuffle and option bracket, I wish I knew that before did all those editing manually lol Happy New Years My friend! thanks for your time and efforts \m/
Is there a way to set the playhead without having to click at the top? Being a long time protools user it's been hard to adjust to the way logic does this, it seems like a lot more unnecessary mouse movements.
First of all, I love your videos, they are super helpful, thank you for your great work! I have one question: When you use the shortcut in order to shuffle regions together as you show in the video, will it always be at the beginning of the project/ end of the project? Or can they also be shuffled together without moving the first region of the track, so the beginning of the audio recording remains at the right place in the project?
Gret Video, thank you. Is it possible, to fill gaps between sentences with room tone from the clipboard? (Like "Repeat to fill selection" in Pro Tools?) Sometimes, the gap between two sentences in noisy, but the length of the gap should stay the same. I don't want to completely remove it to digital silence and want to fill the gap with room tone.
hey thanks for your vids! in my MacBook Air the "option+brackets" function activates the marker and not the shuffle drag as you explain at the end of the video. is there maybe another key combination for these type of pc? thank you if you reply to this :)
Hello is there a way to overlap and here both signal for a audio ? Like I’m tired having 20 vocal track just because sometime I have some word that need to be on top of each other … Give me a tip please haha
Hi @TheFrenchKrisTFK , I was wondering if you ended up finding a solution to your query here. I came to this video hoping to find the answer to this exact question of yours - i.e to overlap but preserve the the underlying (or left hand side) region as well. :). Please let me know if you did. Thank you.
what would you suggest if i have an audio region with a slow release or reverb tail that i want to repeat for song arrangement? I want to preserve the region tail

I have learnt 100% new stuff in this tutorial, had no idea about any of this! Saved this into my favs list for future tryouts. A million thanks 🙏

Wow! Overlap and Shuffle blew my mind. They are really going to save me some time. I love your videos! Thank you so much!
This was/is an extremely helpful video for me, especially the x-Fade content! Thanks ever so much!
Fantastic feature I never knew was there! Thanks for this!
Although not everything is important for me, I love your clear speech and voice. Wonderful deep explanation series. Thanks !!

How did I miss these features 😮🔥

For anyone struggling with the 'option bracket' shortcut because of a german keyboard: the equivalent is 'option+Ö' and 'option+Ä'
Love you for this one! Thank you!

Excellent
I did learn a couple of things but I would like to have had you show what happens by running the audio you are working with.
Oh my gah he on X-fade mode! :O
Great!

Hi, how is this series different from your course in Macprovideo? I mean Logic Pro X Essentials.
Hello is there a way to overlap and here both signal for a audio ? Like I’m tired having 20 vocal track just because sometime I have some word that need to be on top of each other …
Give me a tip please haha

Is the reverb tail bounced into the region? Or is it an audio effect on the track?
I'll do exactly the same using SoundCloud just set the track to private and share it with whoever u working and leave comments where changes or ideas
