Just begging my water colour journey. I am an amateur doodle person. I live on a boat in the Pacific northwest Canada. Looking forward to trying this. I've seen dozens of videos. You are my FAVORITE 👍💖
I find I want to paint in all medians. The learning knowledge from you is concise and enjoyable. I find waters less forgiving so I try to soak up every edition. Thank you and God Bless
When you first start it looks like a mess then it is beautiful when finished. The best tutorial! I get frustrated because I think oh no! He messed up but my landscapes are awful! I'm learning so I just need to try ! I'm in love with this one!
I’m relatively new to watercolor and newer still to Mind of Watercolor. I can’t do what you do but you give me lots of ideas to try out, to try again and to try yet again. Thank you. You are a blessing!
This is the fourth of your videos that I have watched today- a lazy at home day. They are relaxed, informative and well described. They make me feel like I could be happy painting with any of your techniques. Thank you.
Another great example of you demonstrating control of the paper, moisture, timing and brush strokes as you apply well chosen colors. Seeing how you then watch the colors settle into the fibers until the right dampness allow brush strokes that remain, creating the suggestions of foliage parts by steering color & lifting space & mist. Much of the foreground appears to have been slowly brush-drawn with layers of round, liner & rigger strokes. It's always informative & inspirational to watch you work.
Thanks so much my friend. I’m not a huge landscape person but got a request for a Christmas present and wanted some pointers. I’ve always wanted to recreate misty pines and you did great.
Thankyou so much showing how to such beautiful fog effect mountain side forest. Loved it.i would really appreciate if you could show how to water colour paint fir or pine trees.
I love the way you changed the position of the focal point and designed your painting around that. Your choice of colours is stunning. A really neat little painting. Thanks for sharing your talent.
I live on the west coast of British Columbia ,Canada and the mist on the mountains and through treeline ect.. leaves me with alot of inspiration for this technique ! your painting looks like what I see outside my windows in the winter. I sure love the Bristol brush you used to get the mist/fog look. thank you Steve for a gorgeous painting! Heather
I like your philosophy about keeping on painting 😀 I do the same and my mantra is ‘don’t quit!' always finish the painting/drawing, even if it feels like it’s failing 👍 Lovely demonstration btw, I love how bold the foreground colours are!
Love it. You either forgot or skipped how you painted the sky. Also curious why you did the sky wash toward the end. Very nice work. I also loved how you detailed the tall fir trees with boughs first and less trunks. Cool
Recent subscriber here. Really enjoyed this video. Nice to know about some of your techniques but also your repairs -- that aquapaper at the end for example.
So great. I'm new to watercolor and painting in general. I've watched tons of videos so far. You're my favorite watercolor artist and I have already learned tons from you. Thanks! Beautiful painting.
Beautiful video! I gave it a try and was able to create some of the misty effect. I need much more practice to get the trees to be more naturally blended in. But as you say "just keep painting"! Your videos are so encouraging. I will keep trying this with a couple of my own photos, but thank you for helping me to get a start with creating mist/fog in my paintings!
This was very helpful. I have been struggling with some illustration and design work in this theme. Looking forward to doing studies applying the techniques demonstrated. Thank you!
Beautiful as always, thanks Steve! You are such a great artist, and so methodical in your explanations, I feel very lucky to have found your channel. :-)
Excellent as always my friend. Had to watch it twice just to make sure I was understanding the water content (application) correctly. That's the tricky part...wet on wet. So many opportunities to go wrong. You're experience and skill definitely makes it look a bit easier than it is, at least for me. Thanks Steve you taught me another new technique. :-) ~Marty
Thanks Marty. Yeah the water and the timing can be quite critical. Good paper helps by keeping the drying time open longer. And a slightly damp but not wet bristle brush is critical too. I'm afraid in this episode I confused matters by trying to use the oiler bottle which turned out to be unnecessary. Oh well.
The Mind of Watercolor I think you should do another one without the oiler because I got confused what the technique really is. must probably watch it again. Great painting nonetheless, was beautiful to watch those foggy valleys appearing
Beautiful painting. Regarding agitated paper like scratches and spots of paper dissolving, sometimes you can use a very smooth stone and try and fix it by rubbing the stone on the damaged part with a tissue paper in between, but I think the paper needs to be dry first. another but more expensive way to fix it is by paint diluted watercolor ground on top of the scratch :)
Wow! Awesome picture. But I'm also interested in the stand that you used because I'm looking for a stand and/or baseboard for myself. Plus any other information on this would be great
Just beautiful - colors are so MAGNIFICENT

Those 2 trees really did something to finish the composition. Its that inspiration that I'm not sure practice will give me. Thanks Steve
👍

Love that the videos are there for a reference, even years later. Thanks Steve

Mountain scenes and fog effects are my favorite! Still not master the fog yet, but working at it. Thanks again for sharing your talents.

Exactly. Whats the worst that could happen? You might learn something? Who knows. Thanks Gee.
Love it. You either forgot or skipped how you painted the sky. Also curious why you did the sky wash toward the end. Very nice work. I also loved how you detailed the tall fir trees with boughs first and less trunks. Cool
Skies can be put in anytime if they don't encroach on the landscape.
Always a help Steve! Thanks bunches 😀

I'm so glad you were able to repair the scratch from that fine-tip bottle. That just made me sick to see that scratch on your lovely painting!
Yeah it worked out. No matter. I've ruined paintings before.

Really gorgeus paint dude....Nice mist effect 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Big Hello from Italian Artist
👍
Magnifique ! Merci beaucoup
The scratch made by the oiler boiler bottle is not a mistake, it is the ski cable lift going to the top of the mountain! See not a mistake! :-)
😄

The easel came from Hobby Lobby. Only about $30.
beautiful
I would have loved to have seen how you made that 'fix' with the Aquafluid.
Same here, dunno about that stuff, seems a lot of people in reviews didn't think highly of it so wondered how Steve got it to work so well.
Fantastic!
