@Brian Stevie Nicks has said many times in interviews (and at the 2014 Grammy Awards when she performed in honor of Ms. Ronstadt), that when she was in high school, she heard Ms. Ronstadt on the radio and there and then decided that she wanted to be a rock-n-roll singer. Ms. Ronstadt was her idol.
The praise for Linda on these comments is over the top to be honest. the lack of her rotation on classic rock radio is stupid. There has to be a balance. Personally I lover her contributions - she had so much. Her competition fot he day was mostly men (boo hoo), and Dolly Parton and not much else. I don't care for calling her underrated, she sold out arenas for almost a decade. She had all of the awards. Stop calling people like this underrated. The only thing she lacks is sustainability in the younger generations. That... my friend is a cycle. If you live long enough to see it, you will see she is definitely lasting.
