In the cold war , Malaysia chose to be with the Free world forces.

Late PM Tun Abdul Razak was asking from Chairman Mao Zedong if he can use his influence to reduce the Malayan Communist Party (MCP) terroism acts that happened on the northern peninsular and southern Thai.
Turns out, Chairman Mao was pleased to do that and the support of PRC towards MCP was literally reduced since they supporting Vietnam during Sino-Vietnamese War in 1979 but before that, their support also lowered due to their supports of Soviet Union even though they said they're supporting Maoism which is contrary.
Back then, Soviet & China have a really bad relations due to disputes between border back in 1962 and 1969.

Communist just pure stupid by choosing us a their target, they can't get chinese support because they oppose wealthness, can't get malays support because they oppose religion and they don't even try to gain indian support. Their English accent and proficiency is amazing, I'm so surprised and also impressed by how well the Malay people were educated during the times. Crazy so much has changed in only 50 years time, where modern Malaysians nowadays would be ashamed standing infront of their ancestors.
@@williamkee51 , those people whom you admired for their English proficiency came from upper- and middle-class families with financial means and network to be educated in prestigious English schools.

It's funny they had considered Malaysia to be the last domino when there was still Thailand which also had a formidable communist insurgency in the countryside managed to hang on as Malaysia did.
That is exactly why Malaysia is the last domino. Thailand is the second last and they did exceptionally well in preventing the spread of communism.

Lee Kuan Yew masa mohon nak gabung dengan Malaya bentuk federasi sebab nak sekat pengaruh komunis yg berleluasa terutama di kalangan org2 cina sebab pengaruh komunis China yg kuat. Jadi selepas kemerdekaan wujud satu perpecahan dan prejudis di kalangan bangsa pribumi dan bangsa pendatang yakni Cina. Dan Pap masa tu mengenalkan konsep Malaysian Malaysia yg kemudian diteruskan oleh Dap selepas perpisahan Singapura dan Malaysia. Konsep Malaysian Malaysia ni basically ideanya tak kisah melayu atau tak asalkan Malaysian memiliki hak yg sama. Bunyi mcm hebat tapi hakikatnya masa tu integrasi bangsa masih rapuh..so pada org Melayu thats just a trick untuk mengenepikan pribumi di tanah sendiri sebab masa tu pribumi masih ketinggalan jauh dari sudut pendidikan dan ekonomi. So cik abang dan cik kak semua tolg jangan salah fakta babitkan dap dengan komunis. Depa tak sokong komunis dan tak pernah sehaluan dgn komunis…tu pasal si mastura tu kena saman…sebab kira fitnah.
