Rigging Riffe Ice Pick tip with spectra. This method can be applied to a variety of different tips but make sure before committing to this project that you have all the necessary tools.

Nice modification to Riffe's slip tip. I never really liked their slip tip, but I think I'll enjoy it now with this simple modification. Where did you buy your spectra and can you buy it without purchasing it in bulk?

Hey Ben, I'm trying to re-rig a mori tip, but for the love of god, I cannot get the spectra through that opening. I've tried tapering the spectra with a razor, waxing it so it doesn't fray, etc, but it won't go through. Any tips?

I Brummel lock the loop first then bury the tail. A more secure splice I think.🤙🏽
