Before I disassemble or unwire ANYTHING, my phone/camera comes out to snap a couple of snapshots. It saves panic when reassembling, like a time machine.
Its a lot easier to just remove the clip holding the lock in.... and Unhooking from the lock mechanism(at the opening), and pulling the tumbler and the lock rod out through the outside... align the tumblers[new/old] remove the clip off old tumbler( with rod attached) ... put in through the outside... replace original clip attach locking rod... But i appreciate the video, as it got me there.. Thanks
Thank you I was doing the very job on my Jeep And I have to say thanks for the short shorts very nice, love it, . To get door handle off I used a 2 and 1/2 inch nail held upside down with pliers, used screwdriver to pry out handle just enough to get nail head around clip and pulled up with pliers.
If you need an extra hand use a clamp to hold the lock in, works great. If the tension clip does not want to go in correctly, one prong correct but the other will not go in the groove. Lay it down on a flat surface and see if the prongs are bent uneven. Found that was an issue with one side.

My Jeep Wrangler 1996 is a two part doors with a sliding window, still having problems finding a video on how to take it apart. A lot of these videos don't show this
This video is not 100% accurate. The clip that holds the window handle can be removed with a hook tool. Once the screws are taken off the panel does not come out as easy as the video shows. If you are doing a video just to show off this is perfect...
I never lock my Jeep. Some clown will just cut the soft top to get in if they want in...Great video though! The damned full steel doors on my Jeep are the source of most of my rage. ;)

A paint can opener will work on that window crank with a little extra pushing in on the panel.
