I wanna see this as well my uncle has an old flathead I've wanted for awhile but i don't wanna buy it till I know the best way to build it it's a 5hp with a 1 in crank runs great still
I always wanted to know what is the biggest bore size you can do on a 5hp Briggs flathead and still be reliable I always wanted to build a flathead for my mini drag bike but with everyone running the Tilly 236 or263 cc engine I don't know if you can build a flathead that would be able to hang with or beat those engines I know a blockzilla would but the 263cc engine has a 3" bore
I just ordered the wildcat 240rs today Friday August 23, 2024 it’s been out of stock on the site but today I got one ordered thanks I was going to get the ghost I’m glad I waited thanks Red Beard Garage
Live close to ec just went in some great ladies and great guys working there willing to help as much as possible will be my goto parts stor from now on
hey man i really appreciate you for making all these video. i just started getting into gocarts and minibike and without your videos i wouldve probably waste my money and just break the motors but really man thank you.
I ordered one from them before this video came out. It supposed to show up tomorrow. I asked them what i need to build the best wildcat motor and they told me to just buy this and the stage one kit then also get the ported head and roller rockers once they have all that available. This is going to be one awesome motor on my mini.
since I just finished up building my Tillotson 236 just before this engine came out, I asked EC how this block compares to the Tillotson 236r block. They replied that this is a cost-saving version of the rSeries block from Tillotson, and they still consider the rSeries as the top of their product line. The royalties they have to pay Tillotson when they use their brand name are not cheap, so they chose to call this a Wildcat. For the price point they are selling this at, you can not go wrong in starting with one of these. I put a billet rod, and billet flywheel in mine but the parts alone ran well over $1,000.
Thank you for always providing good and easily understood descriptions of the engine you describing.Too many talk about engines, and just show pictures and guestimations of expectations.YOU, show Us the parts, and why they're there. The graphs you show are so clear, and I'm thankful for them. I'm looking forward to seeing you all dodge cars and trees when testing this rocket ;)
@@RedBeardsGarageYou gonna build this thing? I’d love to see what it does with a more aggressive cam, springs, rockers, ported head, etc. seems like a great engine out of the box for under $600.
The question guys I have a predator 301 CC himmy motor And redbeard said In a couple of his videos That Came with upgraded Valve Springs Already And I have had A racing package from go power sports On mine for a year But Google says The motor does not come with upgrade Valve Springs And I do not feel like changing mine out So do I really need to and what happens if I do not
Hey guys, I need some advice! I have a 420cc with a chinese torque converter, and it is jerky when i try to take off?? Once im going, it seems fine. Any advice?
Sorry I forgot to ask an important question, does the tillotson piston work in this engine with the tillotson rod that fits tillotson piston wrist pin? Also would it be 0 deck height? I'm looking to buy an upgraded piston vs the cast one that comes in the 240rs.
More specifically the tillotson 236r billet rod#8279 with the tillotson 72mm 225r piston? My apologies for the bk to bk messages, ec is very busy and replies take a few days to get bk to me. GOD BLESS 🤙🏻
Pending Dyno results, I am looking a this engine and I'm not sure about the price! You can get a Ducar 224, add the PVL Flywheel, Billet Rod, 28mm carb, a 275 or bigger cam, 26# valve springs, and head studs all for less than the initial price of this 240 engine.
This has the Wildcat 946 with the big intake valve too and it’s 240cc. It’s an absolutely phenomenal cylinder head that has enough material for even more improvements. For a brand new engine with those specs, in the box that you can just add oil, add gas and pull the rope and run it, it’s a pretty good deal.
@@WalkerSmallEnginePerformance Would be real nice if they sold it with different options. For example, the choice of getting it without a cam and flywheel at a lower cost. Some guys will want to take advantage of the big valve head with more than a 265 lift cam and use a flywheel with more timing than the cast aluminum flywheel has.
Wondering if parts between the tillotson 225rs and fhis wildcat are interchangeable. I'd like to try using the 225rs flywheel and coil pack which revs up to 6500rpm. Anyone?
@@WalkerSmallEnginePerformance Im considering replacing the 225Rs i currently have on my T4 racing kart. So I thought on just swapping the coil pack to get that little extra rpm so I dont have to mess with the gearing on the kart. I would leave the stock ec flywheel since its got a 34° timing. It will depend on the dyno numbers.
Why don't you get involved in Lawn Mower racing? You're so big in small engines AND you're in the south. People are running close to 100hp Briggs, yamaha and Kohler V-Twins(they come standard as 16-40hp). There are some crazy performance stuff for those engines and you could pick up a running mower as a base for a $100-200 on Facebook market. I promise you you'd have a damn good time. EC carburetors also has a bunch of stuff specific for USLMRA(the national governing body) racing.
I just did the math to build a comparable engine based only a Tilly 225R block. Paying retail price, it costs slightly more than this and you have to assemble it. This is ready to go. Add oil & fuel and run it.
And I’m the person to build my motors. The 180 dollar motor was such a bang for buck. This one might beat it in cost to performance ratio when building a custom motor. But that doesn’t negate the price difference out the door imo.
Every time I try to save money something like this comes along and takes my money
Welcome to the club .we all have the same addition 😄

I shop at ec so often i noticed the engine on the menu before they even were able to upload anything for the engine 😂
Lol I know how ya feel. It was there then changed, now back and actually being promoted.
I'm digging on the bone stock 240.

Hey Iv been telling you for a minute that I built my own 241cc with a 72/59 piston/crank set son of a gun is a beast
I'm about to do the same
Waiting patiently for the 500/ 999 to get your magic on them, now that would be some HP output
Come on redhead. I am waiting patiently about the next wildcat 240 video! :)
One of the best benefits i see is that dipstick on the top of side cover

I just built a 236 for one of my personal bikes too. I was looking at a 59mm crank to make it a 240. I should have done it. Oh well.
What parts did you get and are they for the 240 wildcat or236

I fell for it. My order is in. Hope she makes all the torque. For those off road minis.
Looks like a very fair deal
Can't wait to see stock numbers
I’ve been dreaming of this
Well seeing as how EC Carbs is only an hour away from me, I think I’ll buy local and support their business!
startin to wish i didnt buy my ec228, but i have had it for 2 years
This engine is sick it reminds me of my honda gx240.you should compare the two
I'm excited to see the dyno
I need one of those
Nice engine. Wish it came with a billet rod!
They was trying to keep it at a certain price point. Wait till you see the dyno results on it!
Installation of a billet rod is a pinas.
Their stage 1 kit comes with a billet rod, flywheel, and coil for $200.

$800ish with stage 1 kit is EPIC for 20+hp!!!
thanks for the great video! love the verse as well. Have a wonderful day :D
Ec carbs wont stand by their products. I had a carb choke snap they wouldn't even get back to me.
Can you show how to install one on a mm80 style frame
Less than accurate dyno numbers? No way. I’m shocked. 😂
The forged rod and piston will be nice
Need one
you guys should build a honda gx 340/390 !
YESSIR WILDCAT FTW #ALLMYLIFEBASSHEADZ
Please upload the dyno vid and minibike vid tomorrow we have been waiting weeks for this vid!
Was going to buy one but just bought another mini bike lol but it’s next on the list
those wildcat carbs are bad ass. That's what I run a stage 3 212 I just built (my first build). Can you buy those heads seperate ?!
❤❤
God bless RBG 🙌
I cant get my 240rs to run... Idles fine any throttle it pops and falls on its face...
93 octane fuel
Plug was black, cleaned it.
What’s the cylinder coated with?
No mention on website or in specs
Just curious should I order the engine now before it starts blowing up? Or just take my 212 to stage 3 I just use for neighborhood cruise

600$? Idk. For 800$ you can build a pretty good engine with all the cheap good stuff. Not bad thou. I’d like to see the numbers. The head looks sweet.
