I posted the Fix here ...a few days ago after I found it on AVS Forum. However at that time, I also noticed some Ebay individuals were selling their 4k Pacific Rims because they probably thought their 4k Discs were defective. 🙂
Thanks for the tutorial! I couldn’t find the setting initially until you showed me. I had a similar issue on the Michael bay version of teenage mutant ninja turtles. I’ll let you know if it works.
My ub420 is also on Limited, and I don’t have any issues playing Blu-ray or 4k disc. I’m going to leave the 420 the way it is. Just for the heck of it, I put in Pacific Rim 4k and it played with no issues.
I wished you made this video before I replaced my player. Anyway congrats on solving your problem! And good to know in case I encounter this issue again :)
Thanks for the info, I just tried the video on my Panasonic 820 and a small window appeared briefly with the info that I should check my network connection but then I was able to watch the video normally and the message was also gone Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹 Europe
I have the ub820 and checked my Pacific Rim last night and I left my BD Live on Limited and at first I thought mine was not going to play, but I waited a little bit and it started playing. But if I start having problems I know what to do. Thanks!
Good luck with that - their customer service is non existent, and they don't even understand the products they're selling, IF you can actually reach a human being.
I checked my UB820 last night and it was set to limited however I only let mine connect to the network if need to check for a firmware update. I’d be curious if you turned your BD Live back on and disconnected from the network if that would do the same thing. I just don’t have Pacific Rim to try it on myself
Was that with that particular disc, or any movie you played? I checked mine which was also on limited, but, I had no issue playing any Blu-ray or 4k disc.
My ub 9000 is not even connected to the internet. I connect it once a year, with a cable, and check for any software updates. Does this setting stop any software updates on the machine?Do you have a link for the fans that keep cool your rack?
I have the UB450 and Twister the US version would not play , though it loads up to the menu when you go play just shoots back out to main player menu. So I bought the Sony UPB-X800 and it played fine on there not sure whether it firmware or what no idea , thought I’d let you guys know 👍🏾regards Darren
This is good to know. I’ve never connected my ub820 to my internet, and after having it a few months I haven’t had any issues.

My Chernobyl 4k disc one would not play on my 820 and it played after I turned off the bluray live. Thanks for posting the video. Much appreciated

@@wendellwendellb339 that’s good. It wouldn’t play on my 9000 or 820 until I turned it off. It’s just strange.
@@myhometheater7029 definitely something going on with 2 different models but same brand

I would contact Panasonic and inquire about that issue, just to hear what they have to say.

I don’t think it’s the player, it’s an issue with the Network, at least with that disc.
Will this work for twister 4k as it won't play on my UB820 here in the UK
@@Benjimikey not sure try it
