He is right about Indian Post-graduation is not recognised in the US, but American residency is fully recognized by Medical council of India!
Actually, Medical council of India (MCI) recognises post graduation degree from only 5 countries (English speaking)
USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand.
The reality is India has 1.3 billion people, they have one doctor for every 10,000 people in India. By your own statement you say " can enjoy" but not " are enjoying". Also no one has denied the importance of money. All I was saying is majority of the docs earn money but don't find time to enjoy as others could with that money.

The cost of living in the USA is quite high when compared to the European ones
For instance,a doctor salary in Paris is around 13,200 € per month when compared to a doctor's salary in New York (around 24,000 $ per month)
But due to the high cost of living,at the end of month the money which remains is almost the same

Doctor's job is an evergreen job. He can continue his service till his last breath. He can work as per his schedule and comfort. People don't require an engineer during crisis but Doctor's are always needed.

one thing he forgot to mention was that while it is possible for a foreigner to get a residency in the US. Most med schools in the US do not accept international students, hence you really have to finish your MBBS or MD overseas and apply for a residency in the US

Moreover he told we can do MBBS from USA, That is correct but only to some limited colleges. Colleges like Stanford University, Yale University is not approved by MCI that means if you have medicine degrees of this colleges you are ineligible to work in India.

1. Give usmle

He didn't talk about bonds that we have to serve and even the fierce Competition especially after MBBS. only 2-3 seats in each Stream. Takes 15-20 you to become an established doctor, or more. A doctor has no Personal life. When a doctor earns, he/she is already past his youth to enjoy that way. So pls don't Choose MBBS unless you can tolerate the delayed gratification this profession has.

@Kalpana Pal . Depends on your branch.Like Internal medicine residency program is for 3 years and Neurosurgery program is of 7 years.And fellowship last for 1 to 3 years.

In USA after you clear USMLE no one cares if you attended Maulana Azad Medical College, AIIMS, or a small medical college. I have seen students from relatively unknown medical colleges in India get better internships than graduates from top medical colleges of India. Bottom line - Your USMLE score matters the most.
