Great advice here. As a bass player (since 1994), a music teacher (since 2002) and a fulltime bass player since 2010, I cannot agree more with you: there's no substitute for a good teacher/mentor. One who pushes you, challenges you, and keeps you accountable. Someone with a track record of playing for years, teaching for years, a broad and deep musical knowledge & experience, and who has some important people skills aswell, such as: understanding, motivating, and inspiring people.
When I started playing again, I paid for a year subscription at Scott's Bass Lessons. He is an engaging guy, there are some solid courses, but as a guy with a family and limited time, I found myself "falling behind" in trying to keep up with the new content. Say I have only an hour a day to play, I'd spend a fair part of that watching the new content, or checking out messages. So, what I'm saying is, I agree, I need to find a teacher. Great video.
I'm certain that many of us are in the same boat - even as someone who is utterly obsessed with music I find that I get sidetracked and definitely need someone breathing down my neck in order to keep things focused!
Hey, thanks for the great content & efforts! And yes, multitasking isn't my thing either! ;-) University of Leuven (Belgium) did a survey with over 1000 people. Only about 2% of them could actually do more than 1 task at a time. 98% could not do 2 or more task well...

Completely off topic, sorry. But what watch are you wearing?
It's the 40 model made by MVMT. They look good for the price, but I've had mine for 5 years and it falls apart on a regular basis.
This video should be labeled why you need a teacher. How to find one is a little misleading
