10:48 this makes more sense why the recent album sounds so different to his older stuff. Lots more consistent singing and auto tune which is great and yeah he does use in older songs but for some songs on god save the animals that auto tune feels like it has a different use. But i feel like ‘flawed’ vocals is what makes Alex G so special. Hoping he doesn’t get sucked into the production world of music and stays pure to his own judgement. or just does what makes him happy and is hopefully in alignment with his musical development and change but imo original bandcamp alex g music will always be my favourite. the video of him playing Be kind on some staircase has to be one of my favourite things to listen to ever! and that is miles different to his new stuff. and the album rules is just soooooo goood!!!!! and that has so many voice cracks and fluctuations with sound that gives it so much purity and emotion and stuff i just love it so much. Based on listening through his progression, i’d say he should stick to his own judgement and is amazing at it. it’s like if an abstract painter asked a realist painter if their work is up to their standard if you get my drift. anyways i love it so amazing but i actually prefer the live performances of his new album to the final produced songs vent over lol
@@izzym4318 ur so right. the voice cracks and sonic blemishes are a big part of the appeal of his earlier albums. It always seemed like he had a good compass for which "mistakes" sound good. There's a big struggle between the strive for perfection vs sounding authentic when it comes to amateur music production, at least from my experience. I think he still has moments like the second verse of Mission that sound just as good on the album as they do live, but overall I think GSTA in general sounds more polished and produced than any of his previous stuff
it's so weird seeing all these high quality alex g vids now (not complaining, i love it!!)
Embrace it
I've been seeing this same comment for years lol we get it you got into him a while ago

Petition for Alex to Release the songs that didn’t make it to the album
i have a feeling they will show up just like all his other "unreleased" works. just give it time it will most likely happen
This is the best mix of Sam’s vocals I’ve heard
Runner was definitely one song I could hardly get out of my head this year ❤
How does this only have 300 views?
i like how during the interview segment on the master shot he kinda looks like he's holding a massive mechanical stogie
these two songs are my fav songs bro gsta is so underratedd, also why does this vid only have 29k views
godddd I love him so much
i’m so proud of him
00:10 i’ve only heard him speak when he was younger, i did NOT expect that to be his voice for some reason😭😭
This is such a good album! It’s so nice to see him performing it :)
"This is John H and it's my band now" 🤣
When did he say that? TIME STAMP NOW!! 😭😭😭
Truly da goat
Is it me or is his voice improving a lot live?
He’s definitely getting more confident with these filmed sets
his voice is so great now although it's been solid for a few years now. saw him in 2019 and earlier this year, he was good both times
MY BOYYYY
John your bass vocal on the 3rd verse in runner is exquisite, props
