In a search for new sounds, this man and his work found his way into my recommendations. This is such a great sound over a tight as F riddim section. If you like early-70s Herbie Hancock, or Weather Report, and dig modern grooves-this is gonna light your fire!

I like to look at this like a modern Jazz revolution, similar to the one that happened at the end of the 70s with Herbie on the lead.
They got the groove and a good bassist!!!

Perhaps you are open and interested in learning about your "predecessors" or collaborating? I can name a few like Erik Satie, James Blood Ulmer, Rip Rig and Panic, Meshell Ndegeocello etc. If it comes to that, I would be ready to leave this world after listening to it - I would know it was all worth it... I just gotta say the US has been playing this type of jazz fusion for 30 to 40 years. This is nothing new and yet its still my favorite genre no matter where it comes from!

This sort of thing been around for a long time in the uk too - kinda a resurgence but it also definitely has it's own modern flavour that's not quite like what's been done before

damn, anyone know what kinda pedals the bassist is using at 51:00-53:00. been searching for a sound like this for the longest
he's using some kind of octaver and/or harmoniser pedal, I play guitar and use the digitech whammy pedal to get that effect - awesome pedal and they do a bass version.
