Exactly. They SHOULD know " I " has a healthy appetite, and " T" can put it away as well.Those boys are bigger now and run all day long, so that requires lots of calories.
I don't understand the issue...the keeper was putting greens into the screen and Iriki comes and attacks Tay? That's a small area for all these gorillas to get food....fights are bound to happen.
Watch from 1:05 and look at DJ's face as he watches Iriki get closer- he saw what was coming before Iriki even enters the scene.

Already D'Jeeco is angry with Tayari for not mating. Now, he is very much upset with quarrelling wives, adding fuel to fire. But D'Jeeco is great Silverback and will timely intervene to save his wives and kids. ❤

They need to do something about Iriki's food habit. They tried to do whatever to stop her plucking Dj, you can see the difference. Poor Tay, poor Iriki, poor J, poor Ringo but DJ's on the scene doing his job. Tay needs to learn how to share her man with her sister. Let them sort it .🦍

I think poor Iriki has an eating disorder and is insecure about food😮 The zoo keepers have tried EVERYTHING to help each gorilla in this family get the amount of foods and treats they need and want, but Iriki can't be stopped ❤😂I love this gorilla family so much, and the zoo❤ This is the cleanest and loveliest enclosures of any zoo I have seen around the world ❤ I do feel sorry for Djeeco trying to figure out what to do😂...
Maybe Iriki needs to talk with a therapist...

They need to take her off those birth control pills and other anxiety meds. Find a natural remedy for her anxiety problems. They shouldn't interfere with their natural cycles anyway. If they can't afford more animals, they shouldn't have gotten females.smh

Iriki started it and again Tay gets the blame,lucky she is tough.The keeper shouldn't do that knowing they will fight over food it's the only thing they have to look forward to,don't be lazy and go in and spread it around or feed them separately see it time and time again and it's unnecessary.After all that Tay got nothing neither did Jabali,just ridiculous.

I wish the keepers wouldn’t toss them food like that. Shabani’s troop doesn’t have food fights like this troop does. Because there’s plenty of food on the ground to share. But when it’s tossed a few at a time it’s a game for the strongest and quickest and it’s not fair.

I think that is a terrible idea to feed at a door, look at the conflict it causes! Why would the staff deliberately cause that and they shouldn't be that hungry either.. Tayari missed out so how is that fair.
Sorry to Iriki lovers but I really start to dislike her. NOT the animal's fault, but its all I can see. 0:09 , 1:18, who you can honestly see starting the fight? Iriki! 3:05 basically Tayari and Jabali have to move away for D'jecco, Iriki and Ringo. Then she takes the food from her own son . Then you can see how Jabali is scared of her. You can hardly see Ringo scared of Tayari. Y si, sé que han escrito no culpar a los gorilas, pero siendo justos Tayari es la que siempre pierde, no es justo. Se tiene que alejar de la comida si Iriki le apetece. Iriki empieza a gritar y D'jecco elige disciplinar a quién? a Tayari. Iriki ataca a Jabali, y no pasa nada. Iriki es bien gordita y Tayari se ve bien delgada, eso demuestra quién está cominedo más. Si, es culpa del zoologico, pero desde aquí solo se ve mal práctica. Y obvio, no es porque yo adoro a Tayari, pero hay que ser justos.

I love Tayari too, and it hurts to see her unfairly targeted, yet I think it is down to hierarchy. Gorilla societies run on a strict hierarchy. While it can move around the group somewhat they seem to be governed by it and take it very seriously.
@@lm9991 I think so too. Everything revolves around that. Tayari is unfortunately last in the hierarchy. So she has to give up her place to Iriki. That's probably why Dj supports Iriki. But Tayari has a strong will and understandably can't just accept it. She is also a dominant female by nature. I feel sorry for her.
@@lm9991 OK, I understand there's a hierarchy. However, I have read that in Gorilla's troops the female hierarchy is based on age, time in the group, No of offsprings and relationships with other group members. In none of these scenarios Iriki is above Tayari. In fact , Tayari was the first to give birth. Apparently if there's no silver back, the strongest female will lead. Gosh I can hardly see Ms Iriki in that task.

Great video. This keeper was very irresponsible. This way of feeding can become violent and when it does, it shouldn’t be rewarded. Also D’Jeeco was being a jerk here. He was looking right at them when the fight broke out and went after Tayari.

Smh Iriki is always starting something, poor Tay always gets blamed, she did an awesome job by walking away, Iriki is surely a trouble maker, the keepers should have separate areas when feeding them so they don't get into disagreement. Was Iriki taking the food from her son? D'jeeco did a good job, he's already mad he's not able to mate with Tay now this. Why don't he try mating with Iriki? God Bless them 🙏🙏🙌🙌❤️❤️
Honestly this Zoo fosters competition when they should foster foraging. They never have Feeding baskets full they should have them all around. DeJ is aggressive an Iriki even more so. Not saying their not feeding but throwing food at them or thru that door, doesn’t balance out DeJ gets aggressive an Iriki gets an attitude. Ueno Zoo always has food laid out all around enclosure and there is no fighting for food
Ueno have a vege garden, that is why it always looks fresh. This is not a good way to feed these beautiful gorilla's.🦍

That was a devious move by Iriki. I don't think that it's about food though. I'm thinking it's jealousy on irikis' part. Tayari is spending more time with D'jeeco. She doesn't care that it's D'jeeco approaching Tayari. She wants to upset the apple cart.

Meus dois amores Ringo e Iriki , a forma como essa família é alimentada precisa mudar, não está dando certo, está causando brigas pelos motivos óbvios, já era para ter resolvido esse problema desde que as irmãs chegaram, Iriki não pode chegár perto do Diego que Tayari simplesmente não quer, ela e sua obsessão , chega a ser chato, todo mundo sabe disso e vê, é claro vão ter individuos que vão negar por conveniencia, mas é tipico dos humanos, Iriki quase sempre fica longe para ter paz, porque Tayari fica com cara feia , o bico parece um tucano, porque a irmã está perto do Diego, ela pode ficar perto o quanto ela quiser, ela tambem é uma das femeas dele, nao goste ela, vocês , não vai mudar a realidade, a confusão sempre começa com Tayari ou por causa dela.
I have watched so many gorilla vids. Every single gorilla parent will steal food from their own kids, attack them, attack each other, it is constant hunger games. The concept of sharing is completely alien to them. I dont really see this in other species. Im sure others do it but i havent seen it. To my eyes this behavior over food is specific to gorillas.
I watch lots of tiger and lion vids. They are very sharing amongst each other. Gorillas are the exact opposite. Mean animals.
I've said this before and have been chastised for being mean but I agree; they are not genetically predisposed to the concept of sharing. Feeding them in the current manner may be an attraction to the zoo visitors but it creates unnecessary tension amongst the individuals. Perhaps leading them into separate cubicles indoors and feeding them individually would ensure that all get their fair share without the attendant tensions.
@@bert-qu3iq yeah well they have to do that with the momotaro family because he will not let anyone eat if theyre all together so they have to separate him from them. Even the mom genki has to be separated at times too bc she will take all of her son kintaros food.
I think in the wild where they have far more space they can spread out and eat alone but in captivity it causes them to feel like food is limited and they get violent with each other.
It's sad you can't state things on a lot of these gorilla videos. The gorilla PHD ' ERS will come after you 😅😅😅
They are not like this in the wild or naturally, because in the wild they eat 8 hours a day the natural vegetation & there is no fighting even in large groups because there is no need. Zoos create this by not allowing access to food all the time & this zoo in particular thinks it a good idea to push bits of food through a cage. They are absolute idiots and create fights all the time. Other zoos leave large amounts of food available all over the outside areas to prevent this food scarcity mentality & quite frankly hunger. Gorillas need to graze for at least 8 hours per day as they do in their natural environment. I too have seen what you describe, but it’s always in zoos that create this problem. Gorillas can’t be fed like this. Gorillas eat leaves & branches & vegetation all day long. It’s not like feeding other species
this is not true, the shabani family is extremely generous with each other and never throw fits over one taking the other's snack.
