This trailer really makes you see why Marcus had to get ripped in the original trilogy to be on par with a drone.
Young experienced pendulum vet war hero struggling to fight a locust drone wow you can feel the struggle the fear marcus was oviusly scared of it but like with any enemy he had to adapt
“Being thrown like 20kg dumbbell” made me laugh for a minute but damn I forgot how strong the locusts are
I hope there's not alot of characters honestly I want it like gears 3 make us work for our characters like the gold locust or mvp Cole from gow 3
Hopefully we get some Legacy Characters from the comics like Adam Fenix and his squad during the Pendulum Wars and and. Carlos Santiago.
Cole Train and Baird wouldn't be in this game as they are from a different unit than Marcus and Dom. Lt Kim and maybe the other Carmine brother should be in it though!
I hope this shows a glimpse at what melle combat might be like and also excited to see the new gore technology.
Imagine if you run out of ammo you can drop your weapon and start swinging on the enemy or you can roadie run and tap B for a dive tackle and start swinging

One thing I like about the trailer is that the drone is much taller than Marcus. They’re supposed to be 6’7 and significantly stronger.
I saw your reaction video and had to subscribe, I love your enthusiasm for the Gears of War franchise...My son and I have a deep bond over the Gears of War franchise, he hasn't been in my life for 5 months now, I got pretty emotional seeing the trailer! It's the one franchise that he and I played together. He actually got me into Gears of War after I had tried it and gave up on it. I'm so thankful for this franchise, I'm also happy for you, I'll be there watching your content from here on out.

So apparently, it's on steam right now--not playable of course but it's on there with a release date of "coming soon." Other games revealed at the showcase said it was coming in 2025 in steam. So, I'm not sure what to think about gears of war e day just saying, "coming soon." To me, this means either it's going to be coming sooner than we expected like the end of this year or beginning of next year or its going to be much later like sometime in 2026. But I'm hoping its only saying "coming soon" because they want it to be a surprise with a much sooner release. Whatever the case, I'm super pumped for the future of gears of war.

I feel like its going to be mid-late 2025, if it was any sooner they would have said so. It could also be early 2026 like you said because I wouldn't doubt that the game is in a state where they don't really have an ETA of when its going to be done.

My only gripe is that there won't be Cole and Baird in the base game because they don't meet Marcus and Dom until the Lightmass Offensive 14 years later during the events of Gears of War 1. At best they will be included in some story DLC (if ever).
Never know, might get to see what they’re up to during this time too in the game.

What do you think the story line will focus on/ be? I think it’ll focus on the harsh reality of E-Day and the horror humanity suffered. Marcus and Dom fighting off the evasion while being exposed to all new emotions and experiences they’ve never seen or felt in combat. Also the reality of the locust far outmatching humanity at first… lots of things they can’t control.
Pretty much. Problem is there won’t be any big bosses or ad much enemy variety unless they disregard the canon like judgement which they seem to not want to do
@@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-24 yeah that’s very true! Was thinking they might have a race or 2 of locust as the “spearhead” attack force with drones that get wiped out in the first day. Something like the first wretches or locust experiments.

Considering the last game added a melee combo/stun for pve. That could be possible. I’m sure it wouldn’t be as cinematic as this trailer, but hand to hand could happen.
The only thing I didn’t like is the lack of any kind of release window. Trailer looks amazing. I’m pumped to get back into the Gears of war world.
Also it’s nice that they’ve given up on the just “Gears” titles for the true gears of war.
I can’t wait for the grittiness and violent tone of the original gears franchise in this prequel game along with younger versions of Marcus and Dom but I’m honestly hoping for Tai Kaliso to appear in the game or even be apart of Delta Squad
There’s not gonna be a delta squad. That was started years later.
@@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-24 Delta squad is a name for squads within the cog, delta already exists before gears 1. When E-Day happened Delta consisted of Marcus, Dom, Tai and Pad in the books

@@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-24 aye my mistake, just looked through aspho fields book and it’s C company 26th infantry battalion that Marcus, Dom, Tai, Carlos and Pad were apart of during the pendulum wars and E-day so that’ll probably be the squadron we interact with in the next game
For horde mode fan lovers, hopefully they'll stick to what works in past games and just introduce a new game system mechanics. A strategy game is a strategy game, but when it comes to making a new game just remember what made the old horde games work. Some games and game modes kinda of run in a specific way, especially when it comes to strategy and defense games. Just keep in mind what made the old modes work while introducing new mechanics

Maybe but if the game is soley about e day I doubt it. If I remember correctly Marcus disobeyed orders a few years after e day. I might be wrong though but it definitely for a fact was not on e day

they need to remove the button to scan the map (where everything turns grey): it's extremely annoying to see gameplay on youtube where every two seconds the screen turns grey. Pro players tend to click it more frequently due to nervousness, and it becomes unwatchable.

Guaranteed that there won’t be a gears 6. At most it will just be a book. This game is starting a rebooted timeline. There is no way the go back to gears 6 10-12 years from now.
