The history of momo in Nepal dates back to as early as the fourteenth century. Momo was initially a Newari food in the Katmandu valley. It was later introduced to Tibet, China and as far away as Korea & Japan by a Nepalese princess who was married to a Tibetan king in the late fifteenth century. In Newari, one of Nepal’s oldest languages, ‘mome’ means cooking by steaming. ‘Momo’ is to Nepal what pizza is to Italy, and is available in every restaurant, hotel and household of Katmandu and other parts of Nepal.

Momo she eat is nepali dumpling she went to indian nepali cuisine resturant momo is nepali but as she said inside of it as indian ingrediants is nepali but those masalas are common in south asia
But again thoses masala are common in South Asia and thoses masala did not originate in india ...
Just because foreigners discovered abt spices thorugh india does not make those spices indian

The spices used in momo cannot be called indian spices because it is used in all over south asia and not necessarily introduced first by India. Secondly momo can be called Tibetan-Nepali dumpling because it was originated in tibet and Nepali people just modified it in their own version, twists, flavours and popularized it.

Exactly.. people will say its indian spices when its just regular spice that we use all over the South Asian countries. Just because the foreigners found out about the spices through india like pepper , turmeric , chilli etc does not make it indian spices
No momo is from tibet and got famous because of the tibetan refugees living there...same for laphing and thukpa.
@@Tenchoe32 No Mo:Mo are from Nepal ( Newari ) . Laphing is from tibet it not a Nepalese cuisine we never claim that but as there are Tibetan Nepalese or Tibetan people who have been living in Nepal for centuries as refugee now have become a part of our country .
Thus we say laphing as Tibetan Nepalese cuisine originated in tibet .

Nepal and tibet relationship goes wayy back
Our relation with tibet is like with our relationship with india cuz the Two daughters of Nepal : Mā janaki also know as Mā Sita was married to ram in ayodhya and Princess Bhrikuti who was married to Songtsen Gampo in tibet who then later in history became to be know as the 1st dharma king ( because of Princess Bhrikuti )
Back then in the history tibet had no proper communication or proper trading route with central china , tibet used to trade with Nepal aka Newar merchandise
( Side Note : Even before silk route was introduced the oldest route of trading was through Nepal for both india N'd china . Also Nepal used to be huge back in the history. From khas empire to kingdom of Nepa to lichhavi dynasty to kirat dynasty to malla , shah , thakuri dynasty ... Newar were very popular for maintaining the trade relationships with nehbouring countries )
During that time for tibet , Nepal was the only way they could get access to various different items . Therefore Nepal's ( Newa) culture ( Mask dance & lakhey dance ) , religion, language (Kutākshar & Ranjana lipi also know as lantas or Landzha in tibet . It has various name in different part of china . ) , Art ( Paubha art which is a Newar Art also know as Thanka art in tibet ) , architecture ( pagoda style and stupa as well as prayer wheels ) , sculpture , technique of sculpturing , spices, food, delicacies, stories, myths , Buddhist script etc got influenced into tibet .
Food item like rice was not an accessible item in such an high altitude ... it was through Nepal tibet got access to rice and other food item .
Similarly Wine Nd process of making wine in tibet was also introduced by the Nepalese ( Newar ) ppl .
Many Places in tibet like the potala place is built by the Nepalese people and there are many monastery that are built by Nepalese people or in Nepalese style like the white pagoda , white stupa in miaoying temple in bejing is made by Arniko ... Same with golden stupa in tibet was bulit by Arniko, you can see Nepalese influences of Architecture even in the great wall of the china even if its not built by Nepalese people u can see the influence like the gate way of great wall is gerox copy of Nepal's golden gate . You can also see ranjana lipi carved in the walls of great wall of china but most of Chinese people mistake it with sanskrit... sanskrit is different from Ranjana lipi .
You can find ranjana lipi always in the front cover of Buddhist script or prayer wheels as well as many temple in china . You can also find Kutākshar all over china .
Excuse me to break it out to you ( kindly) but Mo:Mo is a Nepali cuisine ( Newari cuisine ) N'D yes u can find Mo:Mo in tibet but tibetan Mo:mo are different than Nepali Mo:Mo
Also in Nepal we relate Mo:Mo as a symbol of friendship betn Nepal and tibet . There are stories how both marchant from Nepal and tibet both had ingredients but no food . So Newar merchants brought in techniques of steaming , flour and spices N'd tibetan merchants offered Meat ( yak ) and these ingredients were infused to make Mo:Mo and that's how the story Friendship from Mo:Mo start .
U might think tht tibet used to have connection with central china what kind of bullshit am i talking but Even if later in the history tibet and chin made trading route it was still dangerous to cross it as many people were lost while travelling to central china directly from tibet to china it was game of luck .
In tibet the centre of trade was different but later as lhasa got popular trade point it became the centre place for trading and in Nepal Kathmandu was the centre of trade . People from central china used to cross over the land of Nepal to enter tibet cause it was easier route of travel vice-versa for tibetan ppl .

this girl is the reason i following a kpop group only blackSwan and i never did liked kpop but i watched a lots of KDrama and medical Dramas are my fav but 1 kpop group i liked and following since Karma release ( fun thing is I am from ODISHA, INDIA which is sriyas home state,country respectively ) and i like the energy of 3 other members too... hell yeah i am for them here .

generally, we refer to wheat flour as the one that is not as refined as maida - it's called whole wheat flour in English. It's rougher and has more fiber in it.
