When I was first saved I went to a "church," that did "The Grinch Stole Christmas" for their Chrustmas eve play and mentioned nothing about the story of Jesus' birth! I later found out it was connected to some popular "Mega churches" in the USA. But even as a baby Christian I KNEW there was something sooooo wrong with this. That was the last straw for me. They never put scripture quotes up on the screen but ALWAYS put up the pastors words in the screen. They also had a halloween youth night and encouraged the youth to come dressed up and 90% came as "evil creatures" like demons, witches etc etc. And they decorated the bathrooms with skulls! It was horrifying when I put it all together. There was never any teaching aboit the dangers and consequences of sin and nothing on reoentance! It was all about what God can do for YOU to make your life better and feel good. Not how to take uomyour cross daily and follow Jesus no matter the cost! Thank the Lord that He called me out of that place and led me to an AMAZING church led by the Holy Spirit, where they teach the Word of God faithfully and get deep. He got me out of there and transformed me into a strong woman of God. But man alive....I was once in a church like this and I saw the problems and tried to talk to the pastor about it..but was never "allowed access' to even meet with a pastor. I brought the issues up to my friends there and was shut down and told I was being silly and too stuck up. They LOVE having their ears tickled and never being challenged. They WANT to continue in their sin, but FEEL like a Christian even though they are never taught what that means. It is truly horrible

Yeah, I want to do fantasy, science fiction, etc. story's that have christian fiath messages and christian allegories, etc. But I want this story to cause unbelievers to get curious in wanting to read the bible and other things. When I go to church we sing to lord, we read the word of God, etc. I don't see these things happening in the church I go. It's sad that they are using movies instead of the bible. First is the word of God, then the rest of this christian allegories, etc. God is first, the rest is secondary. God bless.

Funny I seen this video there are big churches doing these things in my area (midwest) recently with top gun maverick dressing in flight siuts and riding motorcycle and also with jurassic park, and toy story. I told the people attending these churches I work with to leave they are like its interesting and fun. My old church did a series every year called At the Movies. People who had not already seen the movie left with more of a curiosity to see the movie than to read the word. In the original days of this church we met in a movie theater which made this an event bigger emphasis on the movie itself. The images of the movies stuck in the minds of people more strongly than any scriptures.
Hey I had a question about the song Holy Spirit. The lyric "Holy Spirit, you are welcome here Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere" do you feel that this is misleading to play since this is played in church where more than 75% of the people are saved and the Holy Spirit lives in them?
I would be okay with something like this if it was just advertised as a play with Christian undertones/principles and maybe only used the church building for it but wasn't performed in a service or something?

I did not like what they were doing at all! I feel that it was in NO WAY presenting the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST!!! I feel like you do Kdub, preachers and churches just need to PREACH THE BIBLE GOSPEL!!! Theatrics is not necessary when presenting the GOSPEL MESSAGE but this was an irreverent distortion if that was what they were attempting to do, in my opinion!
