- I will never understand why so many people go to such an obvious Insta-tourist-trap like Santorini when there are so many amazing alternatives in Greece. Take Amorgos for instance. It's the easternmost island in Greece's Cyclades island group. With a land area of just 121 square kilometers, the island has a population of nearly 2000 people. It's incredibly beautiful and no mass tourism is spoiling the fun so far. The island was featured in Luc Besson's film "The Big Blue."

My favourite island and personal paradise, the place I met and fell in love with my girl. Been going since 2001. Unfortunately they are building a new road on the east side, destroying part of the historical hiking route that leads to the monastery.

Just discovered your channel, and it is now one of my favorites! Would love to see a tutorial for how you edit your shots!!!! Since you aren’t doing true tilt-shift I get the premise, but there are several things in your process that I don’t understand.
If I may pose a couple of questions: Say you shoot everything 5k in the GH5. Are you shooting raw? And then in your editing timeline... are you just editing 1080p?

By the way... I was certain you had to be shooting with an actual tilt shift lens. Your work is convincing!
@@IamJohnCarter Thanks! Some stuff is shot in time lapse and some stuff in video, depending on the speed of the subject. Everything is edited in a 4k timeline.

This is the sussiest island i've ever seen
Lovely island..but please don't call Santorini a tourist trap..You may make viewers thing that it's not worth visiting, while Sanorini is perhaps the most beautiful island on this planet, with an amazing history too. Great video!

Haha wish we could! The trouble with these islands with rocky slopes, is we don't have water so everything dries up!
Interestingly, Amorgos was once covered with an oak forest. In medieval times, it was conquered by Marco Sanudo from Venice, along with all the islands of the area. He cut down half the forest to make warships for his armada. Then the rest was destroyed by fire at some point. With no roots to catch the rainwater, it flows back to the sea instantly and so the soil is dry and nothing grows. Same with most islands in the area. Unfortunately this can't be reversed. If you want to visit a greek island with lots of green, try Samothraki, full of waterfalls, lakes and deep forests. Or Skopelos, or any of the Ionian sea islands like Corfu. They are much greener!
But yes, the dry island thing is a joke among ourselves too! :D
