HOW EPIC IS THIS, its so nearly finished and you will love the finished section in the house, Subscribe so you don't miss it.
Too epic
Hiiiii
Yes your the best.
So very epic.
Can wait for the future vids and updates
I do believe this series will go on forever. Eventually we will have tunnels everywhere. I will happily join the coalition of tunnel diggers. The world will finally become united through the digging of tunnels. This is the reality I would like to live in.
Next project, tunnel that links his house to the local pub 👌😂
I welcome a future as mole people living in secret from regular society
We must part the seas with collins tunnels
Colinition* of tunnel diggers
He will have one going to his local post office and tesco 😂
VIDEO IDEA: Please Colin, for the finale of this series, hire an appraiser to evaluate your house and see how your tunnel and bunker has changed the value of your property. And don't tell them ahead of time about all the underground stuff. Let them discover it like a "one last thing" sorta deal. I'd love to see their reaction.
He answered something simar to this in the past. Apparently because of some legal thing if he ever sold the house he would have to sell it as a bunker, with attached house. Watch the bunker update video from last year

@@Validifyed It’s not a legal thing.
It’s just that the whole setup would appeal more to those who think bunkers are cool, rather than just to your average house buyer.

Imagine when somebody in the far future, buys this unassuming little house, after Colin's moved out, and then just one day find out that the floor in the pantry is actually a trapdoor leading to a system of tunnels with a bunker, in their backyard.
yep
My house was built in 55....I'm constantly hoping I find an old bunker. I will say there is odd cement work under my raised shed 🤔
@@devdawg22 I recently sold an old house that was built in 54. The concern wasn't an old bunker, it was an old buried oil tank. Luckily someone removed the buried oil tank on the property many years ago. We had to have a ground radar survey and found the old copper lines but not the tank.
This comment is on every house video of his, why would he ever sell it? He is a millionaire, just buy an extra house if he wants.
@@Seruphin True - i had no idea it had been said befote
Colin,
For safety you need to get confined space air monitors installed. I know you put vents but a heavy gas could come down your vents and you go forever sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like what?
@@jack99889988 Well first of all, methane is lighter than air, so is carbon monoxide, and since CO2 is naturally occurring in the air already, it's not going to magically accumulate underground. You literally have the exact same air in your house right now. You stand the same chance of asphyxiating yourself in your home or conventional basement as you would in the tunnel... also, his tunnel is at roughly the same depth as a conventional basement anyway, or at least within 2-3 feet of it.
@@kleetus92 I'd still be wary of CO2 accumulating over time just because it's heavier than air. Having proper active ventilation is never a bad idea. But I don't doubt that this wasn't already on Colin's list.
@@kiliankoe There is something called the 'mean free path' of molecules... it pretty much guarantees that gasses will mix uniformly unless there is an external source displacing said gasses en mass. Like if you had a 200 liter liquid CO2 carboy rupture and flood the area, that would give you a confined space problem. But, just natural air, and a person hanging out breathing, unless it's an airtight seal, it's not going to be an issue. It's why you don't die in your home if you don't open a window.
Generally, it's known from industry that confined spaces are related to much more frequent accidents than what you would assume statistically. I agree, it's never a bad idea to monitor the air (e.g. O2 and CO2) when you're so dependent on it.
This tunnel and bunker is going to come in handy in the next few months!

This series is maturing well with everything going on around the world.
Well no one knows how everything will proceed, but I would feel a lot safer with a bunker and tunnel system in my garden xD
I was legit thinking the same thing. Like Colin is a time traveler that knew a big war would break out and now he’s been preparing for it ever since he built the bunker. Now he’s adding transportation lmao
Yea now it just feels like he is bragging about being one of the only ones that'll survive world war 3 considering what putin said he'd do if nato interferes with Ukraine
Frfr
No kidding. I kept thinking to myself that the tunnel he's building may come in handy in the apocalyptic sort of way.
What I love the most is how Colin faces every problem with such positivity and humour, that is genuinely inspiring
Now it could be cool if you made a "secret" elevator. Like you open the closet - its a closet, but stand inside and close the door, it goes down into the tunnel :D
Colin has a lot of things that every guy on earth dreams of… but nothing beats a damn tunnel.

I respectfully disagree, the hover bike, jet bike, the vertical swing, the water ski tow whale, and especially the bunker equal or surpass.
With what's currently going in Europe, bunker is looking useful than ever.
He knew war is inevitable.
I was thinking the same thing. Wondering how to fit those airvents to filter radiation...
Colin knew Russia was coming hmmm
I was thinking the same, he may have had excellent foresight. We all hope he didn't start too late, though.
Its not really a bunker. Its a basement with metal sheets and a bit of soil on top. A bomb will smash it to bits. Still legendary tho
2 Weeks is up! Where is part 8? I am going crazy with excitement!

It'll only really be cool if it's disguised as just a cupboard and you pull a hidden lever, cupboard back opens up and you see the entrance ;) Also, I hope you've considered locks and making sure the hatch or whatever you use to cover it is flush and all because otherwise you're just giving bugs and spiders a free route into your home. Also people. (hence the locks). ESPECIALLY with those air vents (which you should screen by the way with a very fine mesh) if you don't, bugs are really a possibility. Suppose you're in the UK so you don't get the nasties we do here but still.

You must make an elevator disguised as pantry for a secret entrance! 😃
Seeing the whole pantry going down would be awesome!
I just commented the same thing then found your comment, DOH
Elevator! Elevator! Elevatoooor! Is the right and the only way to go! :D
Oh god no. Because then he'd have to make a pulley system just above, which would displace something probably important, like part of an upper bedroom or something. Plus, what if the power goes out? Not many elevators can rely on manual power.
What WOULD work, however, is a sturdy yet sliding floor panel to reveal the shaft opening. Reason being, a hatch entrance might collide with the closet door, making it hard, if not impossible to get in or out.
Unless if the closet door swings outward. Dunno, tho: I only saw that the door was missing altogether with only a hinge.
@@ReeseKaine no, you could use linear actuators or hydraulics etc, lots of ways to do it.
@@ReeseKaine One can do a hydraulic elevator from underneath!
Just dig a little more. Colin already has hydraulic pressure pump in the tunnel.
One of my old neighbours did this. Everyone in the surrounding houses used to complain that the roads were sagging and power used to go out when he hit cables. After the council looked into the reason why they found he’d been digging tunnels from his house going off in every direction for 40 years. No one knows why! He was known as the mole man of hackney!
That's a great story!

I love how in the first videos Colin's worried not to disturb the neighbours with any noise. And now he's just jackhammering away.
I would love to see a breakdown at the end of this project. Like how many sheets of plate steel, how much square tubing, welding wire, concrete, and how much dirt was hauled off? I think that would be interesting to know. But loving this project!

It would be awesome if instead of a ladder down, the whole inside of the closet was an elevator that dropped down to the level of the tunnel. You could even have it look like a normal empty pantry when the real pantry was down at tunnel level.

Shout-out to the unsung hero in all of this - Rick. Rick needs to negotiate unlimited access to the bunker and all connecting tunnels when this is all over.
A tunnel to Rick's house, hmmm ?
I think so. 👍👍
next project! Extending the tunnel to Rick's house
You need a steel lintel with steel supports under the portion of the foundation you have removed the dirt from under, especially since you are going to cut away part of the footing. If you don't do this, the masonry wall will start to sag and crack. Since the house is sitting on clay, you will also want to reinforce the hole you made through the floor slab since that is part of where the weight of the house is transferred. You will also want to have a gap between the slab/footing and your concrete for the tunnel fo the exact reason you talked about when the soil swells in the winter.
I am not trained on foundations, but I did help my father put in a basement door in our previous house and these were consideration we had to make about the structure of the foundation having a hole cut through it.

To avoid mechanical coupling between the reinforced tunnel and the badly founded house, perhaps add a separate steel arch or beam to rest the house part over the tunnel on whatever holds up the neighboring parts of the house, while leaving an air gap between tunnel and house. At the pantry, make it so the house and tunnel can move independently without blocking access (pantry extends into a big square tube hanging loosely in a bigger tube coming up from the tunnel). Consider possibility of house shaking while traveling the shaft.

Should be double use. Elevator system sounds cool but there should be manual system that allows hatch to be locked and sealed from the bunker.. so it actually can be used as a bunker. Not wise to make it properly specially given times we are living in, might come handy and if its nuclear or chemical, yes it needs to be sealed properly with suitable ventilation, filtration system.

Love the videos lad , just brilliant delighted you got to the house 👍👍👍
i really hope he somewhat conceals the entrances when he sells the house, and then one day, years after new owners move in, leaves a note on the front door explaining how to access the tunnel system. so the new homeowners just randomly find this entire section of their home
He has said in the past he'd need to sell the Bunker with a House and not a House with a Bunker.
Reminds me when we sold my mothers house. Handed over all keys without an explanation of their use as they were tagged - after all there are only so many doors!. Sometime later the new owners said "OK we have been all over the house, the kids have examined every corner and we can't find out what that long key marked S is for"
There was great hilarity when I said "look under the kitchen carpet tiles in front of the sink - you will find the safe!"
In Colin's case look under the larder floor you will find Yorkshire Teas secret warehouse!

hey colin, as (probably) many others, i am curious about alot of stuff like the legal situation, what the neighbors thing, family thouhgts whatever else. i think a FAQ tunnel edition would be a nice idea.
The only thing you would need to have from the neighbours would be a party wall agreement where it passes close to their house. Apart form that the neighbour situation shouldn't be a problem as long as they sign the party wall agreement. I think this is why they have been using hydraulics rather than hammers to break rocks so they don't cause any disturbance.

When all of this is finished, I would love to see a video of Colin talking about all of the mistakes or learning moments he has had while building the tunnel!
I've seen his street. In the UK's streets, houses are identical almost. Colin's actually massively in debt for the 20+ houses he destroyed during the making of this series.
Colin’s builds don’t amaze me…Colin getting his wife’s approval for everything is what amazes me
I think he shows us how to do it silently if the wife doesnt approve
Approval? You don't think she actually KNOWS?!?!?
Is he still married ?? :-)
I don't think they actually live there
I thought that. This must be the RUclips house and the family live elsewhere. Surely.
Collin is ready for a nuclear bomb but it’s justified as him not being crazy because it’s funny to dig a tunnel underneath your house and i gotta say i love it
I honestly can't believe what I'm watching here. I put some curtains up in my sons room yesterday and thought, that's enough DIY for me for a few months. I am truly astounded by this mans ingenuity & motivation.
You know what would be cool?
A frickin elevator/lift platform that completely looks like a normal floor!
You could make the button look like a box of tea that you pull from the shelf or maybe make it look like a tile and step on it to go up or down.
It's not like he doesn't have the knowledge.
its not his living house its the 1 next door
@@LazloNQ I think he basically turned it into the RUclips filming house or maybe he’s gonna redo it all so they can move in there and the tunnel and bunker is part of it
@@LazloNQ That tea pantry had enough space to stand in despite the ridiculous amounts of tea, so he could still be using it as a pantry. Just move the whole thing as a cabin down the shaft, that way people would be oblivious it's a lift and it does have a nice evil-mastermind-lair ring to it.
@@Nangjelovski The kitchen looked really lived in though and recently he's pretty much done all his vids from the bunker, staying out of the house.
I can't see his filming house needing a kitchen aid that looks like it's used, top is lifted and whisk attachment is on
I'm in Texas. When you broke through I gave you a standing ovation so loud that my wife came to see what was up.
(Not going to sugar coat it..............she advised me that you sir are a bad influence and I am not to blah, blah, blah, something, something else.)
You are awesome!
Pretty sure she mentioned wanting a tunnel too......tunnels were mentioned at least several times.
GO COLIN!!!!!!!
Waiting for the next part here like the Pablo memes! I also only just realised that we been watching it one way to the house and not the other way into the bunker, I literally thought it was the end then but it’s not haha. Secondly you should make a bunker extension :)
This guy is off the wall...brilliant! Wish I was part of his family during these tence times 🤣
I love how he does everything so safely except then he’s dodging 5lb rocks with no helmet digging straight upwards
I guess you're new here!
And no safety glasses 😂😂😂
or safety tie 😮
Well at least he wasnt digging straight down… everybody knows thats the worst thing to do.
@ 13:55 Right Rick's gunna drill a whole while I stand right here and the drill bit hits me in me brain pan.
🤔😐😏🙂😄😂🤣
This is the best series any RUclipsr has ever done. Extremely well done. Quality content.
You should maybe watch a little more RUclips.
@@tomdomenico ive got a good channel
@@tomdomenico That'll only enforce their point.
Epic. Not just the best project this channel has done but the best project on any DIY channel. If only my garden was big enough and didn't have a sewer drain right in the centre. :(
It is nice to know that I am not the only person in the world that has thought of doing such things. Granted he is doing it, but all my life I have thought about doing such things. In fact as a kid, a friend and I would explore every possible underground structure in our area that we could, which mostly meant this one really long concrete tube draining line.
The fun this man has doing hard manual labour is infectious...... almost makes me want to do something productive
Almost...
I get tired just watching him do all that work.
Nah, just watch some more RUclips 😀
Well I found an abandoned ROCMET monitoring bunker on my land, so I’m working on getting a water, gas and electric supply to it. Harder than anticipated.
Just 2 words, Electric Demohammer. Imagine how many tunnels are being started at this very moment because of your series. Neighbors will be bumping into other neighbor's tunnels, so tunnels will start going deeper, pretty soon the place looks like Derinkuyu. Well done Sir!
drug smugglers
@@oxcadobe3167 they are the true pioneers of tunneling 😆😆
The dwarves delved too greedily and too deep
I think a key motivation was silent working as the neighbors are difficult.
If you wanna dig a tunnel, just ask palistine
I have been waiting for this video. And I am glad it is here. I am absolutely loving the tunnel videos. It will also make for a great escape route for when the inlaws visit 🤣 wife: oh my mother is coming to visit. Colin: oh that is a shame I have to work today. (Proceeds to pretend to go to work but climbs down the tunnel and plays console games all day)
My kids and I love your channel! The tunnel project has been so much fun for us to watch 👏 We like all your videos!
11:10 Colin doesn't only have the right house for a zombie apocalypse, but also the right supply of Yorkshire tea
The only brand of tea fit for a job of this magnitude tbh 🤣
What about a counter for russian invasion?

Anna is a beautiful girl.
He's the person I love, he's my light
day. The way the music flows and sounds
is extravagant and fun. Anna is
icon, legend, beautiful girl, princess, inspiration,
a star. I could go on and on, understand this.
I love NBA Anna.#垃圾
Madness ammount.
Can you imagine the little kid in 50 years, whose parents have bought this house, and he discovers the tunnel while playing in the shed?
Best day ever ! ! !
imagine the hole in the pantry gets a nice carpet over it and then one day when his mom wants to grab something from there the little kid under the floor is like "MOM MOM CHECK THIS OUT THIS IS SO COOL!" and the poor mother is gonna think "HOW did my kid get UNDER THE HOUSE"
fast forward a week and the family digs up (pun intended) this series on this decayed, old platform called "youtube" about a guy digging a tunnel because it's funny
As if the tunnel and bunker aren't going to be a selling feature of the house to jack up the price
If there even is a future after world war 3
@@dumdum5520 Of course, just not for humans.
@@dumdum5520 definitely
Truly amazing!
Bril!!!!!!! You are absolutely bril!!!!!!
