Exactly..., two sub 7-second race cars too. I watched my uncle, a very experienced and knowledgeable man, and his crew of 4-5 struggle just to make consistent passes in a alcohol dragster for 2 or 3 seasons straight. Hats off to them.

Mullet didn't just obliterate his previous record, he did it while sounding healthier and with room to spare. That engine was pushing, but it never sounded like it was reaching the way last year's set up was.

I just remembered something. Mullet’s engine was once in Steve Morris’s personal car, and exploded all eight rods at one time. It was the worst carnage Steve had ever seen. The fact that that block could not only be salvaged and rebuilt, but that it also is doing this in Mullet is insane. Also, think about how confident Steve is in his product. He gave out a rebuilt engine to THE most popular RUclips car guy, knowing it could make or break him. Steve Morris is a genius.
Right? I saw that carnage in Steve's video and assumed the whole engine was toast, when he said it was repairable I had my doubts. But that just goes to show how much more experience Steve has than I do, and how amazing his block design is.
@Alternative1234 it's just aluminum weld it and machine it not much too it as long as if was preheated good enough before welding its just as strong as stock
I know mullet is the main point of this video but it just makes me so happy to see Leroy just working. Even if he’s not perfect he’s certainly better than he has been lol.
Leroy was sounding so mean in that cool air. Type of sound you hear from a car that makes your adrenaline start pumping.

I'm 66 years old and I've been drag racing since I was 17, i could never imagine having a car that you could drive around on the street and go 6.0 - 5'S blows my mind.
The technology advances in the last 10-15 years have been exponential. Great to have some dedicated propeller heads out there making this stuff possible
I'm 53 and dabbled with racing a bit when I was young. I remember when having a car that would go 11s in the 1/4 you had a fast car. LOL

Kevin built an incredible car in Mullet, Steve designed a powerhouse and your crew tweaked it together into a beast that's becoming a worldbeater. Very impressive.
A huge part of this is Pete Harrell tuning it now... Mullet didn't go real fast consistently until he joined the team either... I mean he is the first guy to put a small tire car into the 3s on a radial

If one more person talks about a "titanium converter to go 5s" on this comment section I'm gonna scream! 2 out of 3 of cleets cars just did 1.0x something 60 foots without this "titanium" unubtanium magic torque converter.

I mean the guy from kansas with a 400hp small block in an s-10 will start to believe if he too buys a "titanium" torque converter then he too will run 6s in 1320 feet. Kevin smith did a really good job when he worked on mullet but i dont think a single modification that Kevin did is still on mullet.
The engine, turbos, pumps, fuel tank, fuel, shocks, front end, transmission etc are all different from when Kevin last touched mullet.
Great build by Kevin. VERY heavy. But that SMX though... 😎😎😎

the little arrow < or > on the fuel gauge by the gas sign tell you what side the pump is on. Every car has it. Im sure they know but ive blown a lot of peoples mind with this one! Helpful in rentals!

A tip for people who don't know what side the gas filler is. Look at your gas gauge and you'll see a arrow pointing to the fill up side near the gas icon.

Cleetus is gonna have to run a 5 to win I think. A lot of the cars on that class are capable of hitting 5s to low 6. Kind of a bummer to see him so out matched in this class. I’m glad they are running PBs. I can’t wait to see how fast they push it!!

He ran a 6.35 and the SMX has 20 psi more of boost to play with. I wouldn't be so quick to call him out.
I think there’s a lot of room for improvement. They’re not even using the lockup to it’s full capabilities yet. There’s drive train tuning alone that can knock some numbers off, not to mention the extra boost they have to play with. Mullet is absolutely capable of 5s. It is crazy to see how far the whole field has progressed in the last year or two tho. Just look at how far Snot Rocket has come in the last year, year and a half alone.
No matter what comes, good ole Cleet will find a way.
They stacked him in the class specifically against him and it's bullshit if you ask me, he's racing against fiberglass body pro-mods. The fact he's keeping up at ALL is insane.
