The flavor on it is definitely like a raisin and chocolate type flavor. I can see where the judges would read it as slight oxidizing, similar to a sherry.
I got 39/50 for my experimental mead that I’ve sent to the last Mazer’s Cup Competition. Is that good? Is there a way to know what was the grade of the winners?
@@DointheMost if you haven't already, you could see if Learn to Brew would be open to letting you having it in their warehouse. I could see partnering with local homebrew shops working out pretty well since your main audience would be their potential customers.
I sent one I hadn't tasted since bottling.. I tasted it after I sent it and it was bad. I was going to withdraw it because obviously something had gone wrong but decided to let it ride since I have no idea what a oxygenated mead tastes like and decided this would be a good way to find out. Didn't find out but they tasted the off flavors I tasted also. Of course I have never had a mead go that bad and of course that was the first one I ever entered, LOL. Note to self. Taste first and then decide if you want to enter it.
that might explain some of the submissions I've tasted

This should be a regular segment.
This is hilarious and inspirational. I definitely want to throw a zany mead to the wind like this.
I’m surprised at how well it did, honestly. Those ingredients have no business being in the same mead!
Love this idea! Funny as to watch, makes me want to mess with some judges too
When I have judged, I’ve always loved the ones where I have no idea what’s in it until the end. Those can be a lot of fun for palate training!
Plum crazy
You should have called it "Trash Can Mead-ish"

That’s a pretty good score! They posted the winners here: home.mazercup.org
My experimental got a 35, 39 is great.
Interesting idea...
Speaking of the podcast. Any plans to try having a live audience again in the future?
Potentially - but it is definitely way simpler to use MMM’s existing setup. I might reach out to Vanessa House about it.

The Cargo Shorts Cult approves.
This was fun. 😂 Decent score for the combination
When he said “plum wine base” I was like…oh god.
Yea, me too.
LOVE IT
😄
Save a bottle and send it in again next year and see if you get the same score!
:)
I have three bottles set aside with that in mind. Haha, we shall see!
That's fantastic 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
I’m not mad about it
🎉
Don’t even know what mead is 😂 but somehow I ended up here
Well, welcome to the party!
Welcome! Mead is alcohol made from fermented honey. If you have never tried it, I highly recommend it.
@@reneaclark7689 thanks for your comment!!!

Great fun idea. Great video! And honestly great results! DO IT AGAIN! 🙏🏻 please
Haha I think we will. Definitely made waiting for results a ton more fun.

Don’t worry, I’ve been there myself! Still fun to get the feedback.
