I'm so glad that the walls are working for you! I've been wanting to try that for a couple weeks now, but I haven't had time to be on since then. I was thinking that it was so simple that it would fail, but I'm happy that you could test it and find successñ The gap in between the 2 sections is a nice touch! Brilliant! Cheers! 🥂
hi VF, I love to watch your videos with Silverrun Forest! I have a suggestion for you: If you put two pieces of lumber 90° from the walls, then the lumber will be lifted a bit up and then it is much easier to get under the other pieces of lumber! ;) BR Bossen
I know I'm late, haha, but I used the parking block mod for this. Made 2 "rails" and drop logs on top. No more fighting, plus they don't move like logs can.
The concrete walls are such a great idea. I've been scouring the mods looking for something like this. Have you tired the Harvester Controls mod? I like it simply because you can drop a tree without having to cut it.
Another thing to remember is that American Elk (i believe it's called) can not be harvested with a fellowbuncher or another tree harvesting machine. If you plant trees for machine harvest choose a strait tree like pine for example.
That log-loading area is neat (though the engineer in me wants to see another section behind the free-standing RH wall at 90deg to brace it against being pushed over by the loader!), presume the idea is to bring trees into that area after felling them to process adjacent to the concrete walls, as not the sort of thing that you would be able to cast up on top of a hill or similar (at least, not in real life), or would want to have at multiple locations around a forest. Though I suppose you could have a few strategic forwarding areas with such concrete works.
ifyou put some of those taller cement dividers up, first psrk your truck where you want tooffload logs, build walls around it in the patter desire but for the roof, use ramps build a hallway inthese walls for where your truckpulls in.. and out.. and the roof will be over this part if you press triangle you can place ramps mearly anywere including moving it up and down the wall make it a roof to funnel logs twords the hall way.. so 2 strips of ramps, the lowest point falls closer to the center of the truck trailer..basicly your building a strip of ramps you thrb can fit your truck long ways from left to right if facing from log offload point. the truck, on the other side is the other strip of ramps also going long ways left and right. use this and it guides the logs strait in everytime. if you need some way to reach in to pack the logs if they stick out there is a wheel loader extension. like a long pole so you can poke into the trailer from a distance.
Dude you just helped me more than you can know. My frustration may have just been eliminated!!!! Thank you!!!!

Thanks for the idea! It works so well!
Absolutely brilliant idea! Total stroke of genius. Need to do this on all my logging maps now 😀
Glad it was helpful!

Set up your yarder behind the wall and pull ‘em to the wall
Very impressed that’s probably the biggest issue I have with timber in game definitely gonna use this method. 🎉🎉

I haven't. Not needed to do that yet.
Nice walls. I was thinking some landscaping ramps to help lift and curl the logs up might help. I will have to try

An to make it work even better u can use the painting and make a small dip right in the middle where the forks r gonna go under the logs 💪🏻🤙🏻😎
You know you have a claw under the cutter head that allows you to rotate the log - if you pick it up in balance.
Yep. Not really have cause to use it so far.
You should add a tree silo to your tree far that way you can stock up the piles of wood
The adventure continues.........
Whats the Excavator tool hes using to limb the trees ive been looking for one of these mods and i don't know what its called thanks in advanced
That's part of the Platinum Expansion.
im on xbox i been using the csp bag handler has been a life saver lol
Been using the wooden fence for that

Neat little collecting idea. Would it be possible after grabbing the logs to lift them up clearing the wall then reversing out?
Possibly, but it would unbalance the wheel loader forward.
Good idea, but shame it's not movable, I don't log where my workshop is. Darn
An u can make another small space in the side wall just enough to get the winch cable thu so u can hook it to the trees and pull them in place
