In this video we compare some of the most popular smart light switches that work with Alexa so if you are adding smart light switches to your home you can choose a smart light switch that works for you.
With Alexa smart light switches you can control your smart lighting with Alexa voice commands using an Alexa compatible smart light switch and an Alexa device like Echo Dot, or Echo Show. Each one of these light switches also allows you to control and schedule your light switches directly from your phone.
In the video we compare the TP-Link smart light switches, the Wemo smart switch, Lutron Castea light switches, and Leviton smart dimmer switches.
Each one of these smart light switches has it's own unique features that might make it the right choice for an Alexa light switch for your home.
The TP-Link, Wemo and Lutron smart switches all connect directly to your wifi network and don't require smart home hub. However all 3 of these smart light switches do require a neutral wire for installation.
The Lutron Caseta light switches don't require a neutral wire for installation but do require a small home hub be connected to your network system.
With Alexa commands and smart wireless light switches you can turn on or off your light switches with your voice and control the dimming levels with compatible smart dimmers.

Thanks for the reviews, my confusion comes where if i have 2 sometimes 3 switches that control one area, do i only need the expensive switch for the 1 wall or do i need it for all 3 walls that run the same lights in the room? Will my existing cover plates cover 3 to 4 wall switches?
Thank you I am not a electrical person but i totally think i can put one in!
Hi. Generally our house got burned and not we are fixing it from the beginning. We decided to use Alexa smart switches. I would like to ask one question. Is there any smart switch that is working with alexa but to have an option to close the lights by hand from 2 or 3 different switches?
Hey, are there any 2way 3 gang dimmable smart switches?
Thanks for all stuff you do. What your opinion on the Gosund Smart Dimmer Switch?
The Gosund dimmers: amzn.to/2FnY1nH are very similar to the the Wemo dimmers, and work on the Gosund or Smart Life App. I personally prefer the Leviton and Lutron switches but the Gosund switches work, just make sure you connect them to the 2.4 ghz network when setting them up.
@@OneHourSmartHome thank you just looking for prices because don't really have much of a budget i already have the smart lights from them
Can I use Smartthings hub with Lutron Caseta?
I’ve had a lot of problems keeping Leviton and Alexa connected. I think we are going to replace our switches with casetta.
If i have 5 lutron switches, do i need to have 5 hub as well?
FYI: 2.4ghz is the longer Range, 5Ghz is a bit faster but at a shorter distance, having both accessible is actually a having both accessible it's actually a better thing so you can have a choice in case you have multiple devices around it that are using the 2.4 because a lot of things also work on that frequency which ultimately can cause interference.
The TP Link app is currently broken and won't work with Alexa. Disconnects the account synch every time you try to cycle power to the switch
I have 2 areas that are (as I understand) 4 way, i.e. I have 3 switches to control the lights in 2 rooms of my house. One area I for sure want a dimmer option. I like the Caseta pico option.
Does the Leviton smart dimmer (without the speaker) have 4 way capability? When you mention looks, I like this one and the fact I do NOT require a hub.
Thank you for your research.
The Leviton Dimmer does not require a hub: amzn.to/2GX4GWH it does have 4 way capability you would need to buy the smart dimmer and then 2 "Dimmer Remotes": amzn.to/35uByjB
To wire up the dimmer, the travelers connect from the traveler on the switch to the traveler on the remote for proper operation.
The Lutron Caseta: amzn.to/32q09o0 would require 2 pico remotes: amzn.to/3mfw4iI for a 4 way installation.

More digging. The Leviton remotes appear to be only hardwired, correct?
I like the look of the Leviton switch, but the pico remotes are very nice, no more wires...
Correct Leviton Remotes are hardwired. Lutron are not.
Everytime he says Alexa, you gotta take a shot!
LOL
2 minutes in I'm already tipsy 😂
Lol New York falls in that 5%😂
Cant u just use ground wire as neutral? I mean technically its the same wire isnt it?
Like the videos but every time you say Alexa you trigger peoples devices.
The only problem with Levinton is their poor customer support, once it looses wifi your in trouble following their instructios to the tee it won't work. you have to call support the device will not reconnect on its own like every other device in your house. They have a full staff of people handling problems with every one of their devices every day . They are troubled devices the support staff suggest checking for firm ware updates every 2 weeks or system wont restart. I'm searching youtube to find a better product so I can throw away my Levinton switches and plusgs. Don't Buy
i have a box full of TP -Link plugs and switches ...all garbage i was royally ripped off by TP-Link ...
I'm curious how so? I have a few and have had zero issues
@@GrahamScholton they keep losing wifi connection...my wemo smart switches have no such issues
Wemo sucks
All my Wemo switches work fine ...T P-Link sucks big time .
