I’m orthodox and that means something deeper. You realize Jesus had to die that’s because God the father wanted it that way. He was scared to intervene his plan because Jesus the son knows the real father is the most scariest most serious being ever. When he says if God was your father then you would love me he means you would rather want me as your father not God 😳 he’s loving and caring but God wants warriors he does not care of that. My parents split 3 years ago the very day I graduated the fire academy. The next week my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and it’s been a rough time since for her and was diagnosed with a brain tumor 2 months back after I brought her to the ED. When she was under surgery my father broke down the first time I’ve seen and this reading is what I looked back on being the son to set him free and honor him doing what I must for what he has taught me.
