  • This was a long time build starting probably in 2000 and the plane survived 5 moves. When I finally got back into flying RC, electrics had really come a long way. This is the result of the last year making the conversion.

Special thanks to my sister for all her support, and for recording the flight. Kudos to Megan Phillips from Brian Phillips RC. She takes such consistently remarkable flying footage while most of our footage is pretty much unusable.

Nice work! Thanks for the video. The best tool I have found for scratch building is a 3D printer. Solves the motor mount, battery hatch and cowl dilemma perfectly. I use On Shape modeling software that is free and lots of RUclips tutorials are available. I’m in the middle of building a 1M version of the Ultimate Bipe

I can see how a 3-D printer would have worked really well. I could have used it for the cowl and the battery hatch. I'm sure there's a learning curve too in printing stuff, but I can see that the results may have been more professional for sure.

@@waynemiller6070 your plane looks excellent! Printing the “normal “ PLA is very easy. The design software takes a little time but I use it all the time to make things for the home too.
