Know you've probably searched it up, but the sensor at 6:10 and 16:20 is for the auto leveling headlights. There should be another sensor on the front lower control arm as well.
That RX-8 rear suspension rides higher than mine, and I have my 4 wheel suspension changed 2 months ago. Could this part (Strut Bumper) with reference F152-28-1A1A be the reason if it's a bit worn out?

You should have put car on jack stands, removed both control arms, and used floor jack under the rotor hub to adjust height
