i still remember when they first introduced wavetable i used to make these super complicated patches with crazy routing affecting parameters and it all ended up sounding shit. took me a while to realize you can get some great sounds out of it just by keeping it simple.
That’s a weakness of mine, i tend to go overboard with modulation to see if it would get me in new territory. Definitely need to find a balance with that kind of stuff
I never learned how to use my Live 9, my computer sat dormant for years. Now I want to create and am forcing myself to research tutorials. I'm subbing right here.
best YT intro of 2023, who cares what else he says for the next 53 seconds cause you will be laughing for the entire 60 seconds, thanks for the fun dude
Ohhh u know u can do this on serum because of basic shapes. But actually i really love how different Wavetable sounds. And as you say u can make pretty sounds with it! is so versatile and unique. Love the unison better than other synths! ❤
I wouldn’t recommend anyone get serum if they have ableton suite with all of the stock synths included, i think serum can sound really thin and the workflow is kind of rigid in my eyes. If you insist on getting a third party wavetable based synth i think vital sounds way better and is free
Most synths are pretty bloated. I like how abeltons stock synths are super simple but can also get crazy with the other modulators: LFO, shaper, envelope follower, etc.
Yeah definitely a take what you need approach, it’s like live has a dedicated synth for each vibe you want. Need to do a collision vid soon bc that’s the most acoustic sounding of all of the stock synths
