I have no idea why Yoshi is part of the lot with increased shield size. He is the *one* character that can never get shield-poked, so the egg shield increase is actually a nerf for him. Attacks that barely whiffed before will now connect and cause unnecessary shield damage.

The best workaround I’ve found is having a ruleset where you play a set best of 3 or 5. It makes it so you don’t have to re-pick character and stuff every game. Like seriously the CPU’s can do that, why not the player?

Except, these aren't the changes he needed. He's still garbage as soon as he's in disadvantage offstage, and he still doesn't have a way to close the gap and actually get through zoning or spacing because he's so slow and has no disjoints. The down tilt buff is actually the most important thing here and BSD showed off exactly why in this video, and the nair buff matters too because you can ledgetrap with it and have it be kinda scary now, because it'll kill at reasonable percents if you read a neutral getup or getup attack with it. Those are good buffs, yes, but what I would do is to let him gain height by mashing with tornado for a few more frames of the move's duration and change nothing else about it. This both gives him more flexibility with the height he reaches with the move and reduce the time he's totally vulnerable falling after using it, bringing his ability to maneuver offstage a little closer to in line with the other characters with bad recovery in the roster instead of being just one notch above Little Mac. Oh, also, buff his run and air speed slightly; he should still be slow, he just hits too hard to need to be quick, but he shouldn't be the 7th slowest character in a game with almost 80 characters, especially when he has no disjoints owing to his character archetype.

If he had a bit more air speed, he wouldn't be so much dead weight offstage against so many characters. If he had more ground speed, he could pressure better with his dangerous hitboxes and get chases and followups more easily. I can't count how many times I've correctly read an option but been unable to punish anyway because it took just a few frames too long to position for it.
best cloud buff was the charge time decrease, holy shit that will help beyond imagination in all areas. That one second of difference is major enough to push him really hard
Also upsmash is really good...fsmash connects better. Shield works better. Dash attack Clim snaps slightly better... But yes limit charge 1.5 seconds is huge

@boredaflel The game is incredibly balanced you sound ignorant. Most of the cast sits in top and high tier. Theres only a few "bad" characters that need to be touched. Unfortunately none of them got any love this patch but at least Samus, Sheik, Toon/Young Link have a good chance to move High tier to top tier.
Freee27 i was once playing against a wario player as lucas and i was standing on a platform. It was a last stock situation and he had waft. I held shield until he would do a up-air so i could jump away but He literally clapped me out of my shield (his hands were literally inside my shield bubble) and combo it into a waft. I forgot to save the replay.
Lil Mac is such a bad time.....he's so scrubby ....oh frame one jab,super armour moves, a counter.....every match is just juggle and edge guard him because trying to have an honest match is pointless
Ken's probably the best character in the game by a long shot but nobody fucking plays this guy because of how wonky those inputs are with the buffer lol

Intermediate Ken: Mid-High tier *(C - B-Tier),* likely knows how to perform combo strings for about 25-30% damage but still has a bit of trouble doing it consistently and still has a bit of difficulty with true shoryuken (➡⬇↘) some trouble with O-Geri (⬅↙⬇↘➡). They'll still have a misinput here or there. Experienced Ken: Easily High tier *(B+ - -A-Tier or A Tier)* in the right hands, knows how to use Ken's tools to their full potential, and rarely misinput. They are able to effectively combo, pressure opponents, break shields, and kill. Probably also a parry god.

He's agile, strong, has kill power, insane combo game, great defensive abilities, the only thing that might not be great about him is probably his recovery but even there, I feel like that mix ups of Side and Up B can do a lot to make it less predictable It's just that his skill floor is very high. Even if you can reliably do the inputs, his combos are still hard to do and in normal situations, choosing between all the different attacks and possibilities he has is rather hard If he's really the best in the game, I mean sure that's questionable, but I feel like there's no doubt that what holds him of the most from climbing up tier lists and tournament placements is just that in the time you learn him, you can also learn Pikachu, Palutena, Joker and PT in a row

@@goblingamer606 The hitbox changed so the outer pulls in. The problem is the issue was more in that both of falcons jabs hit high as fuck and have no range. Before, you consistently missed on Greninja. Now you miss Greninja, but also on wide characters because the middle hitbox pushes them away with priority. So I guess if you're fighting like another falcon it's good because you can outspace and pull in with jab 1 when they do a turnaround, but otherwise the buff has ironically made it more difficult to catch aerial opponents and wide opponents with falcons jab because it has a tendency to push people away.

@@Txukasa1 it's very likely. Characters that can follow a flowchart, use projectiles, and have devastating heavy attacks are much better online with the latency and input delay, since the opposition literally has a harder time reacting than they would in person
This patch was amazing, even the shield buffs were wanted by some character discords (kirby discord). Pretty much every low to mid player i’ve talked to about sheik had said they are bad and needs desperate buffs. It seems they were looking at lower level players feedback and noticing how many shieldpokes were happening because shield tilting is not something you learn early on.

Would being able to inhale people who attack Dededes giant gaping mouth suck really be op? Im tires of getting kicked in my face while inhaling and getting attacked straight on.
Blue, use the move when there’s a projectile & not getting barraged by them thanks to mega man. You should also use the move to suck & cuck but when you don’t meet either of these criteria, just use it when jump backward to avoid any normal melee attack. When the character is fast on the ground like Sonic or little Mac, rush back & b-reverse the move. (Press 🅱️ & move to the opposite direction to change the direction of the attack, as well as your movement) If it’s Jigglypuff or Wario, wall them out with bair, until they decide jumping is useless. Then use the method for fast characters.

I feel like the shield update is going to be the least noticable overall, but with a big effect for the characters effected. Jokers aerial gun and arsens timer getting nerfed when hit are going to be big on Joker counterplay, since it was really easy to get trapped by Jokers aerial neutral B when playing as a character susceptible to attacks like that, and waiting out Arsens timer is going to be a lot easier given how comparatively short it will be now. Those are the only real *major* things I see other than Zero suit getting her bury nerfed, that's going to be much less annoying now.

The game is incredibly balanced you sound ignorant. Most of the cast sits in top and high tier. Theres only a few "bad" characters that need to be touched. Unfortunately none of them got any love this patch but at least Samus, Sheik, Toon/Young Link have a good chance to move High tier to top tier.

It was a last stock situation and he had waft.
I held shield until he would do a up-air so i could jump away but He literally clapped me out of my shield (his hands were literally inside my shield bubble) and combo it into a waft.

Ken's probably the best character in the game by a long shot but nobody fucking plays this guy because of how wonky those inputs are with the buffer lol

Ken Amateur/Newbie: Higher-Low tier *(D-Tier)* due to inexperience and those hard to perform inputs.
Intermediate Ken: Mid-High tier *(C - B-Tier),* likely knows how to perform combo strings for about 25-30% damage but still has a bit of trouble doing it consistently and still has a bit of difficulty with true shoryuken (➡⬇↘) some trouble with O-Geri (⬅↙⬇↘➡). They'll still have a misinput here or there.
Experienced Ken: Easily High tier *(B+ - -A-Tier or A Tier)* in the right hands, knows how to use Ken's tools to their full potential, and rarely misinput. They are able to effectively combo, pressure opponents, break shields, and kill. Probably also a parry god.
@Babu Babu I can see why saying that he might be the best character in the game can be controversial, however, I can't think of a single character with the potential of Ken
He has absolutly no weakness. He's agile, strong, has kill power, insane combo game, great defensive abilities, the only thing that might not be great about him is probably his recovery but even there, I feel like that mix ups of Side and Up B can do a lot to make it less predictable
It's just that his skill floor is very high. Even if you can reliably do the inputs, his combos are still hard to do and in normal situations, choosing between all the different attacks and possibilities he has is rather hard
If he's really the best in the game, I mean sure that's questionable, but I feel like there's no doubt that what holds him of the most from climbing up tier lists and tournament placements is just that in the time you learn him, you can also learn Pikachu, Palutena, Joker and PT in a row

@@goblingamer606 The hitbox changed so the outer pulls in. The problem is the issue was more in that both of falcons jabs hit high as fuck and have no range.
Before, you consistently missed on Greninja. Now you miss Greninja, but also on wide characters because the middle hitbox pushes them away with priority.
So I guess if you're fighting like another falcon it's good because you can outspace and pull in with jab 1 when they do a turnaround, but otherwise the buff has ironically made it more difficult to catch aerial opponents and wide opponents with falcons jab because it has a tendency to push people away.
Everyone gets shield buffs? Nice.

I think it's ridiculous how a lot of people say Falcon isn't even decent because he's certainly more than above average despite these sorts of weaknesses. I can only imagine if they patched the things they needed for him.... he'd be a monster.

@@Txukasa1 it's very likely. Characters that can follow a flowchart, use projectiles, and have devastating heavy attacks are much better online with the latency and input delay, since the opposition literally has a harder time reacting than they would in person
This patch was amazing, even the shield buffs were wanted by some character discords (kirby discord). Pretty much every low to mid player i’ve talked to about sheik had said they are bad and needs desperate buffs. It seems they were looking at lower level players feedback and noticing how many shieldpokes were happening because shield tilting is not something you learn early on.

Would being able to inhale people who attack Dededes giant gaping mouth suck really be op? Im tires of getting kicked in my face while inhaling and getting attacked straight on.
Blue, use the move when there’s a projectile & not getting barraged by them thanks to mega man. You should also use the move to suck & cuck but when you don’t meet either of these criteria, just use it when jump backward to avoid any normal melee attack. When the character is fast on the ground like Sonic or little Mac, rush back & b-reverse the move. (Press 🅱️ & move to the opposite direction to change the direction of the attack, as well as your movement) If it’s Jigglypuff or Wario, wall them out with bair, until they decide jumping is useless. Then use the method for fast characters.

I feel like the shield update is going to be the least noticable overall, but with a big effect for the characters effected. Jokers aerial gun and arsens timer getting nerfed when hit are going to be big on Joker counterplay, since it was really easy to get trapped by Jokers aerial neutral B when playing as a character susceptible to attacks like that, and waiting out Arsens timer is going to be a lot easier given how comparatively short it will be now. Those are the only real *major* things I see other than Zero suit getting her bury nerfed, that's going to be much less annoying now.

Well, all we Yink mains got was another good combo tool with multiple confirms, more raw killpower, and a kill throw. Not tooooo big of a change.
Bruh Palutena got nair nerfed they needed something.
Young link ain't broken and palu is worse, nair won't kill by itself as much anymore and down throw getting more knock back makes her down throw to Bair much worse.
