My intro to Kurosawa came via Zatoichi meets Yojimbo - which given how revered Toshiro Mifune is and how brilliant Katsu portrays the blind swordsman, is actually a bit of a let down.
I have only seen a couple of his films and although I like them, I probably need to spend more time exploring his filmography. However doing stuff like is always fraught with danger as I, like yourself have a tendency to become obsessed. I remember you telling me you saw this, I am glad you are exploring Japanese cinema and it's great that it's kind of out of your comfort zone. As always, your videos are a pleasure to watch.

My two strengths in Japanese cinema are actually Kurosawa and Godzilla. I can't believe it's taken me this long to get to Drunken Angel, which is really amazing. Throne of Blood will follow fairly soon... You know my Shakespeare addiction. But following Drunken Angel, Naked Island and Dead End Drive-In, I am overdue for some lighter content, first.
