The best live rendition of "listen". 16yrs later, it's still unmatched and immaculate. It's the vocal brilliance and emotional depths; the perfect marriage.
The mere fact that Beyonce was sick all day prior to this performance is beyond astonishing that she belted this song with such precision and perfection is in itself EPIC!!! Beyonce's voice is unstoppable and perfected from years of work, honing her runs, vocal tones, depths and ranges. NOBODY even comes close to Beyonce's voice and talent. Nobody. She has mastered every music genre to perfection.
This is literally the best performance she's ever done for me! Vocally I felt she was really training her voice to reach those limits which is hard to do at times. Sustained upper belts, growls, transitions etc. All executed exceptionally well. I do miss this type of singing from her. I can only imagine if she continued singing in this style how much larger her voice would be right now. Amazing job! 👏🏾
@@antoniojohnson3925 I completely agree with you in terms of live shows. But if the conversation is just about standing behind a microphone and singing without the added effects on the mic and listening to someone singing live and raw that can't be matched because an artist can't cover vocal flaws. She doesn't need that but her shows have it. This performance of listen was striped down and raw for me. It's hard to find or see that these days. Without all the special effects. For example, an acoustic performance of pure vocals. The sound is completely different and very much appreciated.
Probably has to do with the algo figuring out who watches my beatbox content vs my singing content. I've been working with a friend to expedite the editing process involved with singing videos. It'll make it far far easier to do more of them.
Best you can do is work with what you got. You don't have to be unfathomably good to make music to help others. Beyonce has talent, has had drive, had help, and opportunity. She lived her entire life to be an absolute top tier singer and entertainer.
Yes. They either downplay her vocals or try to claim she’s had work done. When she hasn’t and actually keeps up with herself, works out and watches her diet and she was VERY open about that in Homecoming. She has the genes as well. She’s just IT, on top of her having a very clean image and not being involved in anything negative for her entire career. And she’s only getting better with years and aging so gracefully. Still gorgeous. They hate that so much
Thank you for breaking down the technique! It’s so interesting to learn about how singers engage their own musical instruments, their voices. Have you ever listened to 90’s male R&B singers and groups? I was just watching Mint Condition (What Kind of Man Would I Be) and Silk’s (Meeting in My Bedroom-1999) live performances from back in the day, and I thought of your channel. I’m a bit curious of what you might think of their range and technique, but I’m not sure if you take requests. If you do and have time, check out them out! I think you’d might like them!
not much I can do about it unfortunately. the channel is funded almost entirely by Adsense. Using the entire video disqualifies me for Adsense. I was posting full vids for members/patrons, but I have yet to streamline that experience so I don't recommend it ATM. It may be possible to upload the entire react stream to Gdrive. I've been wrestling with this issue for a bit. haven't found a good solution :(
@@LesageSinging oh wow that sucks, because you need to be able to profit from your content. I’m sure a lot of work goes into it for us to enjoy for free! Well I appreciate your content and will continue to watch. Also if/when you get your Patreon back up I’ll support then too!
I do too. I think it's ultimately smart to move away from super technical singing. She can still kill it, but now she has options if she is sick/allergies etc.
@@LesageSinging yes I agree but I must say she is still really technical it’s just now her voice is super heavy so I think that may throw listeners off
She has always been technical and her vocals have always been complex. Also, R&B has come a long way and she has always kept up with the times, but my personal fave album is B'day. She had a heavy dose of soulfulness that she carries throughout her career. Her Lemonade album is where you see her evolve, not just giving us a glimpse into her personal life, but adding further to her style a large dose of trap mixed with rnb/soul.
@@dduke i know ..i saw a hundred times ....but its weird seeing an amazing performance like this with a Lot of good parts missing ....but i like his reaction so ...i try to watch It at least.

And let me tell you.
She was sick that day. She has allergic rhinitis and she was going through it that day.
And yet she delivered.
beyonce is gonna beyonce.

This is incredible but her live shows cannot be put into words.

Wowowowow she is just soooo amazing how does one get this level of vocal delivery mastery??? Teach me Yoda
you cant 😂
@@a2301. I mean not exactly cuz I’m not Beyoncé but the skill definitely
It takes many years on top of natural born talent you have to really work on your technique

It’s soooo hard for people to believe someone can be that gorgeous and talented

Exactly, this performance is 💯 percent live. Beyonce is just one of extraordinary talented person!
Love this! I’ve been looking for a real, technical reaction to this performance.
I saw an interview of Oprah where she said that she doesn't allow people to lip sync on her show...
2:10 Mariah does this warm up all the time.
Maybe earlier in her career but definitely not all the time😅💀
