Loved this video! Your Dad was 100% correct about treating yourself. I buy myself something EVERY time I get paid. Sometimes it’s just a candle or box of tea that I want, but I work too hard not to reward myself in some way. Also, be patient with yourself as it relates to grief. My Daddy passed away 9 years ago, and I still have good days and bad days. Sending hugs as the anniversary of your Dad’s passing approaches.

Gurrrrrrrl! Your Man’s Cousin/Sister gonn be looking at this video like this 😬. But FR, one of the many reasons I love your channel is because of your authenticity. I completely agree with you: there is nothing wrong with dupes as long as you own it i.e. Ain’t no need to lie about it, calling it what it’s not. For me, I gravitate towards dupes if the OG is discontinued, virtually inaccessible (e.g Babycat is not in the US + third vendors inflated the price to insane amounts) or if the formulation doesn’t match the price point (ain’t no reason for a $400 fragrance to be a skin scent, TF? 😅). And if we are being all the way real, the Perfume Industry consciously or unintentionally dupe one another. Hence the reason we have some niche fragrances smelling like some designer or celebrity scents and vice versa. The fragrance world is a big ol’ pot of accords. And I love it! Niche, Dupes, fill ‘‘em up, Fill ‘‘em up!
🤣 I agree the industry does dupe itself in a lot of formulations. That’s one reason it’s hard to find unique fragrances. A lot stuff reminds us of something else 🤷🏻♀️😉

Haha! Your dupes comment. I love a dupe and am happy to say it’s a dupe if anyone asks. I’m one of those that someone will say they like my shirt or whatever and I quickly say “it was $5!” Haha! I am happy to embrace my cheapness. Budget is tight and I can’t spend much so I love dupes (though some of those get stupid expensive at times).
And you don’t even have to say it’s a dupe. You can just tell them the name of the perfume 😂 I’ll have my dupe video up next week 😉👍🏼
The most important thing is life insurance! People all over social social media taking trips, buying stuff and God forbid something happens and they have no life insurance. Family grieving, distraught and left with debt and nothing for their kids. Sorry for your loss.

Before my father passed I haven't had to deal with grief. That situation literally changed my life. I haven't been the same since 😢

I’m sorry for your loss. I can relate as it will be a year at the end of April that I lost my husband (of 22 years) and grandmother (on the same day). My Grammy was expected; my husband was not. It’s been one of the hardest things I’ve had to live through and will for a long time to come.
I try to treat myself when I can, but I’ve had to adjust to taking care of myself on my own and investing more in retirement and investments for me in the future and leaving things for my nieces and nephew.

@@DeniseAdore very true! Financial security has always been a priority for me and also helping my babies in the future (I don’t have kids of my own) gives me a sense of peace.
My frequent splurge is my fragrance subscription. I love trying new scents. It’s not been hitting lately, which makes me want to cancel or pause, but I remain hopeful.
Again, glad I found your channel. Not many like powdery note or skin scents, and I’ve been making note of some scents you suggested to see if they agree with me the next time I get a chance to test them out.
Grief is a life changing experience for sure. I had some deaths in my life (classmates, grandparents, aunts, etc) but my mom passed a couple months after my second baby was born. At the time I was 35. Almost 7 years later and it can feel just as fresh at times.

When I first started the video I thought your brows were already done! I love the shape. I have to constantly remind myself that you work hard and you need to play hard. I left my job of 15 years for a new job where I get to travel and the amount of vacation time I cashed out was ridiculous. Appreciated the coins but I told myself I am working less and enjoying my time off. I’ve given enough to others and I have to give back to myself. Thanks for the reminder!

2021 to 2022, I scaled-back on treating myself so much that towards the end of 2022 to present I've spent some SCHMONEYYYY 😩🤣 went on a whole binge and just bought all the things lol. To your comment about how quickly time passes as you get older I thought about the title of a book I saw in the drug store one day years ago and it was Gettin Old Ain’t For Sissy’s. As I have aged that has stuck with me and has resonated in sooo many areas of my life. I found out that ONLY Jesus makes you not a sissy cuz without Him we are; we really are.

Right! So many ppl jump in relationships due to physical attraction. That’s not going to work for the long run. You can be physically attracted to a lot of ppl. But if you don’t have that connection of being best friends I don’t see how it will last 💯😉👍🏼

I’m so sorry for your loss my condolences to you and your family, I lost my father when I was 21yrs old and lost my mother when I was 26yrs old they never got to make my Omazing children, there’s not a day that goes by their in my thoughts and showed my children plenty of pictures 😘❤️

My opinion is yourself needs to come first because you are the only person that will 100% always and truly be there for yourself. I know my parents will always be there for me but at some point they wont be here. I dont know where ill be when i die but i could be the only person there in that exact moment. Not a single person can be there for me like i can be there for myself. It’s good to be selfish, you just can’t ONLY be selfish. Some people think being selfish is bad but i think it’s a necessary thing and it becomes bad when people have the inability to think of others as well.
And as far as dupes and things, i dont see the shame in having a dupe. Good for you if you get what you want for way leas money. Im with you on own the dupe. I have a fake $50 louis tote bag. The brown check pattern one. Even if i was in a financial position to spend $1000 on a bag, im not going to when its a boring ass pattern. I love that bag but it’s not unique. No one has ever asked me about my bag but whenever ive shown my friends or family, im proud of the fact that it’s fake and was only $50 😂 no one’s gonna know except the people who own the real bag and are obsessed with louis. But it looks the exact same, maybe the coloring is off but i wouldnt know.
