Most books are a waste of time for me to sell- Unless rare or special in some way. But, as a buyer, I buy plenty of books for $3.50-$5. with free shipping, for my own use.
yeah I throw some auctions in once in awhile but mostly they are dead. I have been in the process of donating my excess inventory aka wall of boxes in my garage. Almost done so I feel great. I;m not a storage facility and holding $10/$20 items forever is just a waste. I have way too much as it is. Focusing on smaller stuff that takes up less space and that I do well with. Postcards, sports cards and other ephemera and some jewelry items.
Walter, I'd love to talk to you about selling video games on ebay. Been doing it for 20 years. I'm not one of the people you mentioned in those states, but I can tell you how I sell off my bulk inventory.
@@WBKnoblock thx I was wondering this too. I was shopping for books the other day on eBay and the shipping kept me from buying more. Etsy keeps trying to make people offer free shipping, but not sure it works as well for the seller.
How do you put in an actual eBay hyperlink into your description? I thought eBay blocks all links. I always have a link in my description but it's a flat length that they would have to copy and paste
@@tryingtolearnthis I don’t share them anymore, ran into issues with harassment. But you can find them if you’re devoted enough. Usually trolls only look for low hanging fruit.
I find it kinda fun to do these kind of experiments. You always learn something, either for the good or the bad.
I donate select books to the county jail. They have book carts that allow inmates to check out books while incarcerated.
@@gloriat8427 that’s a good idea
That’s very thoughtful
@@brendatomlinson Thank you. I do what I can to help people. Unfortunately, there is no kindness or rehab going on in our jails and prisons.

Same here. Rather buy them than sell
except bibles! leather bound bibles are a gold mine!
@@cbmikeyBut where do you find leather bound bibles?!! I’ve never come across them in the wild
@@brendatomlinson I've had the best luck at my local laundromat. 2nd is in-person estate sales. I found 1 or 2 at yard/garage sales.
Thanks for the warning 😊

Comments are open for anyone and everyone
I like these tests you do.
Do you think you would have sold more if it was free shipping?
A shit ton more, but I would have lost money.

I offer free shipping on most fixed price listings- but auctions make more sense to add shipping additonally.

They don’t block links that redirect to another URL on eBay.
I dont want to deal with you ... Exactly
Prediction before I watch the video: You learned that auctions sell quicker for way less money.
Let's watch, shall we? 👽
@@TheSteveBoyd that is maybe 5% of the video
@@WBKnoblock I always take away something useful from your videos.
What is your eBay store name?

15% promoted fee is nuts.
It’s not bad, you just raise the price by a corresponding amount and if you’ve got good stuff, the market just raises avg cost.
