The high-school was used from 1910-1951, the original building cost $40,000 to build at 9.5 cents a cubic foot. It was expanded at some point and unfortunately burned down in 1952. Now i need to decide what to do with my 10,000 Blake bucks!
The Penn Hills postcard probably sold because the resort is finally getting torn down right now, after having been abandoned for some 15 years. My guess is that someone who either had their honeymoon there or worked there wanted a momento.
Like the vid. I'm starting to get interested in selling postcards, gathering info RN. You seem to be getting more $ than some other sellers. Have to check out more of your stuff.
The Bang'ah mall is no a mall that closing soon, Driftwood Inn and Cottages is nice still, lobster trap gift shop gone. I have some post cards listed not even moving
You are extraordinarily clever Walter and it's always fun to watch you do your thing.
Thanks Walter. Always enjoy videos 😊
In my opinion in 50 years of collecting postcards I've never found a stamp on a postcard worth anything. The value is in the card
So fun to see the old postcards. I’d probably end up keeping them 😅
Stamps commonly fall off the postcards from age when the glue dries out

That was a good price due to the size of the school image on the RPPC. I specialize in Real Photos if you ever have any questions
Maine is known as Vacationland! Fun looking at the old post cards. I guess you scan them to list them?

Could you share a link to your ebay store?
Looks like a lovely business. Wish I could find old post cards in Hawaii, but the climate isn't kind to paper.
Very true

I am the only seller I know of who is adopting the volume strategy, over a strategy that focuses on “correctly” valuing post cards
