Its interesting that despite being the darkest and most evil villain Disney has ever created, Tony Jay shows some sympathy for Frollo without justifying his crimes.
Frollo was delusional. He always believed he was doing the right thing in “protecting” Paris and proving his loyalty to God by ridding the world of the sinful/criminals-whoever he believed they were. The (major) problem was that he was a sadistic sociopath who thought HE could do no wrong and let temptations overtake him.

Tony Jay ❤️🖤💜🔥😢😢😭
Unbelievable voice. Just majestic.
He would have been a good Architect from the Matrix Reloaded.
He would have been perfect as the Narrator of the Darth Plagueis Audiobook.
+Redeye or just replace him as Vader, I'm not saying I don't love James Earl Jones as the character, but he would be a perfect alternative
I once read that Tony was originally going to play Ben Kenobi.
Is that true. That would be really cool
Yep.

However, I doubt this would really be his Character, as much as I love Tony Jay and Star Wars. He'd have been better as Darth Plagueis in my opinion.
Tony Jay, James Earl Jones, Vincent Prince and Christopher Lee all inspired me to take a Shakespearean approach to acting!
He had the most incredible voice. He’s taken over as the Metatron in heaven now!
Bring back voice actors!!! Thats what made these disney movies special
My comic dubs have loads of old-fashioned voice acting in it!
"Return the map. Return what you have stolen from me!"

Not only does his normal speaking voice was basically Frollo himself, but he kind of looks like him too in a way 💯
Goddess bless eternally this wonderful, blissfully talented man.
Yeah he voicing Frollo was amazing
All you know about this most beautiful man, is his voice. Learn more about his talented works! Save remembrance about him
So basically, Frollo was voiced by a nice version of Frollo
Apparently Patrick Stewart, Derek Jacobi and Ian McKellen were all considered for Frollo, but the filmmakers preferred Tony Jay
Ian McKellen would have been very good too. Patrick Stewart was originally offered Jafar but he turned it down.
Jacobi did play Frollo in a 1982 live-action tv-movie adaptation of the story
Any of them would have worked, but it would not have been the same. I’m glad the filmmakers saw it that way, too.
Le Fruitcake Ricardo Montalban would’ve been cool as Frollo.
12 years now since Tony Jay has been gone Remembering your powerful voice as Judge Frollo from Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame 1996 a great year for him R.I.P. He might have played frollo, but to me he'll always be megabyte! \o/
I remember him most as the elder god from the Legacy of Kain series. I always thought he deepened his voice intentionally, so seeing this interview surprised me greatly, as I see now that it is all natural :D
Black-Adam-Antium that’s my favourite game ever 😁 Vae Victis

Yeah Tony Jay's passing really hurts
Excellent, thank you for uploading this video.
He had a gifted voice
This guys voice makes him sound completely badass and awesome
rip every other villain aka character that Tony Jay voiced
Most of them remained alive in their films and TV shows apart from Frollo.
I know a good number of moms who watched certain cartoons with their kids back in the day just so they can hear his voice, and some had to change their panties soon after.
Bless Him❤️♥️
