Thanks for posting. This is the first Bathurst I can kinda remember. Great memories of my dad and granddad watching with me down at the holiday house. Awesome!
Huh? Apart from you replying to an 8 year old comment, not even one component of that Torana, was Chevy Monza, @Jake Demuss. Not floorpan, not engine, not gearbox - Muncie was only in fitted in cars for public, with race specced cars having a T10. Not brakes or suspension or shell , or built-in body panels. Have I left anything out? Maybe the steering wheel was in the Monza. 🤷🏼♂️
I owned a A9X sedan for about 5 years back in the day...and honestly it wasn't that flash to drive...the good thing about it was it was one of the only Car's that I made money from
Great driver my fav so many titles not just touring cars I used to have sports sedan remember when he was walking around pits shaken his head at my car
Amazed me how those old Dinosaurs even stayed on the road especially those Land Yacht Falcons...God those things were horrid to drive...could hardly see over the huge dash, and I'm a tall guy
Without taking anything away from Peter Brock, these days were a bit lopsided because Ford wasn't building anything that remotely resembled a racing car, while GM was producing the wonderful race-specific A9X
Yep, back when the cars were real cars, you could go to your local dealer and buy one! Not much to do for racing. Definitely not the purpose built race cars of today who's only connection to the cars they represent is the badge!
It's a miracle the Bathurst race still exists space frame same brakes same diff same shocks steering rack and slightly different engines .And American badges might as well sell the format to the yanks.oh and tosser drivers.
I remember it all like it was yesterday. So much has changed in this world since.
NOW THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY FRIENDS THEY SHOULD OF NEVER ENDED
Have*
They sold Australia car industry. $$$ in the pockets of politicians to import Japs cars ?
Well the fans killed it in the name of "parity"
That car,that drver,that track.... Perfect
05 Brock won by 6 laps & broke the lap record on the last lap.

Dick Johnson spinning out??? He is THE most over rated driver ever.
@Jake Demuss harsh
And the biggest whinger 2
And Brock...he only won if he had the faster car
@cadpeter7972 you could say the same about all drivers, particularly Dick Johnson. He didn't win to often after the formula sierra days.
