This entire wardrobe process is enchanting! The editing quality of your videos, the research and education and attention to detail, as well as the sheer HUMOUR is incredible. I love, love, love watching you work, thank you so much for your dedication and attention to detail. It has all been extremely impressive and enjoyable to watch, I cannot wait to see what's next! Love and admiration from the Faroe Islands xx
I have now watched all of Katerina's videos and I am obsessed and depressed there aren't more. This is easily the most beautiful, serene, well thought out and congruous channel I have seen in a while (and I'm ashamed to admit I watch a lot of YT). Caaaan't wait for more, and will be stalking Kat on Insta in the meantime. 😍😍😍😍😍😍💝💝
Beautiful. I really like your videos and the fashion history insights you share. They are very inspiring. I recently constructed and made my first skirt. It was in a lovely cinamon-coloured corduroy. However I made it a slight A-line to the middle of the tigh. Also great tip for the bias there - I will definitely use it in my next project :)
Thank you for your innovative research, & your amazing attention to detail in all of your videos. And thank you so much for teaching me how to install an invisible zipper. My late mother used the all the time when they first appeared in the late 1960’s to the early 1970’s. My mother in law mocked me for not knowing how to install one.
I made the skirt with your pattern and I love it! It's so elegant. Thank you so much for sharing your formula. I made mine from medium weight wool in emerald colour. It still has some strech and it will be perfect for Autumn. I adore how much you inspire me to make beautiful, stylish clothes. I cannot wait for more of this wardorbe series.
I yelled at the screen when that discount fabric tag from karstadt showed up! hahaha I think 90% of my fabrics are from that section of the store! I am in love with your videos, they are amazing!
I just found your RUclips channel today and as a beginner your sewing tips are absolutely invaluable! This project of making a whole wardrobe from scratch is an amazing idea and I eagerly await your next videos :)
Beautiful, as always! I am in the process of making my first pencil skirt (using blocks I made using the same or similar steps as you). I learned so much from this and am very excited to look through your PDF as well as recommended resources! By the way, your perfectly articulated description of overlocked seams is precisely the way I feel about them. With how many people I have seen using them, I also thought it must just be me, but thank goodness I am not! Thank you for all of your exquisite work in sharing your knowledge and beautiful personality ❤️
I’ve just finished drafting the pattern, I’m cutting it out now and I’ll let you know how it turns out, I’m so excited! I’ve never drafted anything before and it was surprisingly easy!
@@katerivanovana all done! It fits like a glove. Thanks so much, I’ve been sewing for years and I’ve been too intimidated to draft anything myself until I found your videos and the glamour and sophistication just sucked me right in 😂 ❤️
Thank you! I don't really have a list... I want to make more lingerie in black and blue, maybe red.. As for leisure: pyjamas, a dressing gown.. A few skirts, pants, blouses. I have an idea for a bag and a hat... and a coat as well!
Thank you! It depends... if it's a sturdy, yet woven stretchy fabric I would use darts. If it's a knitted fabric (like jersey), I'd draft a different kind of pattern and would also work on it in a different way. (Definitely something I'd like to make in the future btw)
Yes. For that I'd measure the elasticity koeffiecient of the fabric on bias; and use it to determine the "elasticized" hip and waist width. I would construct the pattern with those.
(Hüfte-Taille):2 was man an der Seite rausnehmen möchte.
I find synthetic fabrics like eslastane tend to reduce the longevity of my clothing. I don't live in a space where I can air dry these items. Any other tips for these items to keep their shape longer?
I know what you mean, but I think a small percentage like this will barely have an effect on the longevity (in my experience). As to your other question, I don't have any tips really. In Germany it is rather an exception to have a dryer. We tend to dry our clothes on a drying rack, even in the smallest apartments.. (keeps the air humid too). Using a dryer wouldn't affect the shape though; but rather the pile of the fabric. So it sounds to me overall, like some other fabric might be better suited for you :)

Exactly why I will never own a serger! Incredible finishing and beautiful garments as usual.

"Stitch in the shadow of the seam" is called "stitch in the ditch" in English :) it rhymes!
thank you so much for the tutorial. i love skirts like this and corduroy as well. and the colour! oh and i love the movie references.
Corduroy is my favorite fabric, I love you talking up its high points! And thanks for the pointers on hanging corduroy garments.

I agree with you about serged edges. They don't look pretty at all and I always finish my seams so they look nice from the inside as well :3

Do you have a list of all the items you plan to make, if so could you share some of them please 😊
It would be also interesting if you could share a bit more about your personal style, you have amazing taste.

Would love to see a fly front version!
I LOVE your video's, they are unique, fun and you learn so much! A small question, if I use very stretchy fabric, do I still need the darts?
Thank you! It depends... if it's a sturdy, yet woven stretchy fabric I would use darts. If it's a knitted fabric (like jersey), I'd draft a different kind of pattern and would also work on it in a different way. (Definitely something I'd like to make in the future btw)
Would this pattern work if cut on the bias?
Yes. For that I'd measure the elasticity koeffiecient of the fabric on bias; and use it to determine the "elasticized" hip and waist width. I would construct the pattern with those.
Can I ask where you got your chalk pen? I have been searching for something like it but can’t seem to find.
it's by Prym :)
