Hi Steve, i hope you're doing well and feeling better! I still remember the Release Date of the 30#1 Hits CD. I found three german CD Editions with different Hype- Stickers in the CD Stores on this day in my Hometown Vienna (i don't mean price-tags😄)! The CD was and still is a worldwide Smash Hit to this day! The US Walmart Company, Japan, China, Taiwan etc. produced special "Bonus" DoCD Editions throughout the years. The Las Vegas "Harrah's" Hotel Edition plus the "framed Long Box" EU Edition are collectible too. It's unbelievable how many different CD Editions exists! I really don't know all of my CD / Vinyl plus 30#1 Stuff i still have in my Collection but there's a lot🙄
@@tcbsince73 ...you nailed it my friend! It's unbelievable and crazy on Elvis 30 #1 Hits Releases on CD/Vinyl😄. A friend of mine collect 43(!) different CD Editions two months after the Release Date! I guess he has a few hundreds to this day...he owns 36.000 / 36k(thirtysixthousand) Elvis CD's i'm not joking!!!
I was at the launch party for that in New York in September 2002. I know the producer David Bendeth who was also the vice president of RCA at the time I let me hear an advance copy and also gave me a 5.1 mix of the album.along with vinyl cd and cassette ......he did get a bit of a roasting from me with the wrong versions of a fool such as I and the wonder of you...........you have some collection
Great to see you back again. Love the versions you collect, you must be spending a small fortune. Personally I "only" collect US-UK-GER releases up to 1978 otherwise the family would be bothered too much ;-) Keep the episodes coming!
That's an impressive collection of these 2 volumes I have most except for the cassette too. Also you may want to wipe your lens off as it seems a bit cloudy in your video. Thanks for sharing your collection!
Also wanted to add that those who are just looking for these CD sets just to listen too, I don't recommend it as they "Brickwalled" the sound on the digital mastering. (guess they just wanted it loud for the younger generation) The Vinyl is much better but I still prefer the original "Golden Records" that were first released of most of these songs from the 60's (and 70's reissues) over these LPs. 15 songs per LP kind of gives them that K-Tel sound a bit.
Have both on cd, didn't realize there were so many different variations on both releases. But it's not like RCA/SONY to miss out on a opportunity to sell a few more copys lol.
Love the videos. When Elvis 30 came out in the US, Walmart, (may have been Target but I think WM) had a limited exclusive with a second CD containing an interview. That's the one I picked up.
Hey Steve this was is a great set. It was slightly annoying that 2 of the tracks, a fool such as I and the wonder of you weren't the master or single versions. I read somewhere that the tape containing the master of a fool such as I, was damaged, bit don't understand why they used a different version of the wonder of you, good as this version still is.. Keep up the good work Steve. And take care of yourself.

thanks Harald, because of these huge variations Elvis’ actual sales are underestimated, which is incredible when you think about it

thanks Mark. it wouldn’t be RCA without errors!
Hi Steve, I'm sure that on the DVD version of Elvis No.1 Hits the track listing was reversed.
thanks, will have a look
Why didn't you initially buy it?
I was concentrating on original releases so it didn’t excite me at the time
whoever thought this a cover/sleeve design was good needs ...
the horrible 2nd to none cover? I agree!
I collect CDs just like you do accept mine are Beatle collection. Enjoy watching. Thanks.
