What's wrong with memes, care to explain?
Sometimes memes hate on certain things. Like dudes always wearing khaki pants for example. Some time ago I used to wonder what the criteria were to judge khakis as outworn. Turns out there never were any criteria, it just was this one’s person opinion who didn’t like khakis. It is also true that there is absolutely no problem with wearing khakis. I realized many memes hated on things I saw no need to hate on... things were disliked for no apparent reason. The judgement of the meme was never questioned. As soon as I questioned it (Do I actually agree with the idea suggested in the meme?), I realized I didn’t want to be a hater... thus, I got rid of memes.
Of course some memes are purely funny. You just never know what you’re going to get.
Other than that it is also true that hating makes you more insecure, much more than the other way around. Imagine hating on someone because they have pimples. Then imagine yourself getting pimples. You’d feel the embarrassment of every insulting comment you made or thought about the other person’s face.
Whereas, if you don’t hate on pimples because you have absolutely no problem with them and don’t judge people based on that (
Honestly, who doesn’t have pimples? Everyone has them at some point during their life time... hating on them makes absolutely no sense, you’re effectively hating on everyone

then you’ll have much less of a problem with pimples yourself.
Got rid of memes. Got rid of the idea that if someone says something negative in an annoyed tone, that it’s always true.

I am convinced that social media (which, ironically, this forum is as well although with more options for practical learning) is diluting a lot of peoples' creativity. This is why so much of the current art, music, etc is either re-cycling the past or is failing to excite people on a larger scale.

Well ever since he got prepared for the Terrence McKenna role he's become more like this. Psychedelics can point you in the right direction if you let them. It seems he's become a lot more visibly outspoken and empathetic now.

I want to quit my job and live on a bus in the woods with my wife and kids, so I can be a bigger part of their young lives. Fear keeps me chugging through the corporate grind, because the fear of "not having" is so ingrained in my middle class American psyche. I'm sure it's easier for a multi-millionaire celebrity to eschew financial fears, with the goal of living a free and meaningful life. I want to. It's hard. My kids going to bed hungry or cold is my biggest financial fear.

I feel that and I say it but it's not all the time. I have moments of shame from my past and I get put down by the people I love the most and it knocks the air out of me, no matter how small a comment. But I do try. Every day.

Jim Carrey hit it out of the ball park with this speech. Its one of the most insightful speeches I have ever heard. I have saved another video of this speech where this speech is combined with powerful visuals and music which make the speech even more profound (search Tragedy & Hope channel) but I am also going to add this video to my "spiritual Awareness" playlist, since I like the way this uploader added cartoon drawings to the words which enhances the words.

Jims been enlightened his eyes and mind our open.I used to think things made me happy I bought a house wasnt happy got the Mercedes Benz wasnt happy had a good girlfriend wasnt happy. Happiness comes from within no possession or person can make you happy they might amuse you in the interim but the feelings are fleeting. Hes right about the egoits bs made up in your own head it tells you be a better person and beats you up inside when you fail. This type of advice can be irresponsible to outright dangerous. It's usually only (the very few) people who have made it in life who give this kind of pep talk. People who risk it will almost certainly fail (think failure rate with startups). Then what? They run out of money and find themselves in an absolutely disastrous living situation with no choices. That is the reality for most. Being happy with what you have today is often not wrong.

I agree about hope. At least i used to but i have learned for myself. Hope is good only if youre that low. It means it can get you out of a hole but you cannot stop at hope. You cannot stop there. Once hope(belief and optimism married) gets you out of the hole if u stop there yes hope does indeed become a beggar but what i saw that its really begging you ... Not the world. My hope was only begging the world because i was starving it. I wasn't listening when it asked me for more(asked more out of me). Because i was fear(ful). I asked myself how do i offer more to hope? Why am i fearful? What is the remedy to fear? (Faith). So hope asks you to go further, take the next step. And yes that next step takes you to a leap. Faith. Why the jumping over metaphor is perfect. Because Faith is boundless. It allows to do anything. Even if you 'fail' you feel safe.

Faith, hope and love really work together. If you’re lacking in one or two of the three, than one of the other two will somehow let you know or clue you in. If you have one, the other two naturally accompany it, but you’re really right where it comes to accepting them to grow. A spirit of faith, hope and love won’t force people: God himself never forces people.
Rather, I think He sustains people in their situation in order for men to make their own self defining or impactful decisions, and beyond that is eager to meaningfully and endlessly satisfy one’s heart once one’s identity is set.
Usually, I find people who claim to be hopeful (often in religious circles, whether christian or non-mainstream) try to maintain being hopeful due to an effort for wanting it. Effort however can’t replace authentic love that’s found in transparent relationships and connection, and the non-exercise of faith only trades self-identity and vision for a fear-driven ego, or a spirit of self-pity.
Hope is whats left after opening Pan's door of Ra's box. Those inside the box are without hope.
