Her death being sudden is really important to the message though. They thought she would die of cancer so they live her life to the fullest just to have her get killed instead. Basically, we can die at anytime from anything so we should try to make everyday count
The title "Let Me Eat Your Pancreas" seems very bizarre out of context, but knowing what it means in the context of this story makes the title fittingly tragic. I like this story a lot! The story ended up being mournful, but it is presented in a great way and still has pleasant aspects. I'm impressed that the story managed to make Sakura's death surprising even though it was known that Sakura didn't have much time to live.
