- Packing our hospital bags for baby delivery. Kinda left this to the last minute, so hopefully we didn’t forget anything!
Any day now we’ll be making our trip to the hospital to have this baby! You know when you pack for vacation and it makes you even more excited for the trip? This sort of feels the same… like it's finally happening! When we forget about the long to-do lists of preparing for a minute, we really have to let the emotions sink in; we know that when it's time to head to the hospital, the next time we come home, our lives will have changed forever 🥰❤️
Anyway, here’s a list of what we’re bringing. Let us know if you have any other tips 🙂
BABY

You won’t use 75% of what you pack but it doesn’t matter. Enjoy the moment, I promise you’ll never forget it. Nothing but love ❤️ to you all! Happy Birthday to the newest Scott and happy belated birthday to the Scott twins (44) whom I share my bday with.
I was going to say the same thing! Lol ... for me, I'm pretty sure they would have just needed to ensure they have what Linda and the baby need. I know it will be hard for Drew to leave them there, but, I know there will be moments when Drew will be able to return home to have a quick shower, and, pick up anything that he, Linda or the baby need. They probably won't be staying in the hospital for more than one or two nights anyway. The only thing I didn't see them pack / prepare is the car seat, and, I know they will need that installed in the car before the baby leaves the hospital.
Girl you’re going to need a whole diaper for postpartum, those pantiliners will be useless haha. Loved this content!

They'll hook her up with mattress-size pads at the hospital.

Hmmm I never understood the liners or pads thing everyone recommend and say you need after giving birth I see and hear so much about it never used after my kids was born never needed
@@ItsAMbutyoutubechangedmyname Came here to say this too. Girl, panty liners are NOT going to cut it no matter what kind of birth you have! Just take the mesh diapers they give you at the hospital...and the numbing spray. Those are the real MVPs! 😅

I don’t think that those small pads are going to be sufficient. When I had my daughter, I had to use two large pads and change them often. Just a suggestion. Happy Baby Day!
Yeah....i recall that i used adult diaper instead of regular pads.
They supply the mega pads at the hospital to get you started. Disposable pants too.

You need to buy a maternity pads which is specifically for post birthing :)
Hey Drew & Linda- SO incredibly excited for you this journey has been a long time in the making and I'm SO glad that any day you'll be parents. Wanted to say (might be TMI) that when my water broke I learned a tip from my doctor to literally put a baby diaper in my underwear as we went to the hospital to help with any leaking water. Helped so much! Ps- Please DO NOT worry about being online w/ postings, videos, or any other social media. Take ALL time you and Linda need once the baby arrives. We'll all still be here. xo

The birthing place provided everything for the baby. All our baby needed was onesies & blanket for going home.

I love how cute you are!! I know your super excited!! Your not gonna use 99% of that stuff the hospital has it all! And you like I want these diapers… when your tired your not going to care at all!! Welcome to parenthood! All the things you think you need just to survive is going to change soooo much!! You no longer matter… everything is baby!!

OMG, that's too funny. I had 5 kids and needed nothing but my robe, my own shower gel and body lotion, an outfit for myself to go home in, and an outfit and blanket to bring the baby home in. The hospital provided everything else we needed. Good luck guys, such an exciting time for you.

@@sdw2676 Not only was that all I needed, but I was only in the hospital for 24 hours and they sent me home. They're WAY over packing, but I'm sure it's all the "first time" parent thinking. 😃
When I saw the bottles, I thought, you definitely won’t need those! I had 2 single and one multiple birth!! Probably the most important thing would be the treats!! Got to love those first time parents😊
@@sdw2676 LOL! YES, I had my then husband go and get me junk food and sweets after giving birth, that's ALL I cared about. Yeah, they won't be needing more than half of what they packed. I didn't care about hair, makeup, how I looked, PERIOD! I just gave birth and was exhausted and just wanted to go home. Yes, first time parents are too cute and excited. :)

I swear once your bundle of joy is placed in your arms everything else goes out the window. You forget what you brought and what he will wear. Holding him and loving him is your only priority. And now that you mentioned it Linda, I had to cut my 3rd daughter's cord and yes, it was chewy. Weird though... Happy laboring, and remember the secret to breathing
🤣🤣 We just returned from 11 days in Portugal and didn't take that much stuff! However we did come home with more! (🍷). Don't worry, with baby #2 you'll refine the list 😉! Good luck and congratulations! 👶

LOL! We had very little money for extraneous things. I hadn't planned on the C-section I ended up with so I only packed the bare minimum: clothes for baby and my going home clothes. Honestly, didn't need much else. Hope you don't regret your packing choices but none of that matters. Healthy mama and baby are the main goals. Congratulations guys. I work in labor and delivery and you probably overpacked, but that's okay. I would suggest colored robes and pillowcases so they don't get missed when you are ready to go home.

I had not seen you guys probably since your wedding congratulations on the baby I love watching you guys pack bags because it’s a lot of fun knowing what you’re probably gonna bring home that you never touched but that’s OK. And by the way at the end when you I forget how you ended this script but it said love, L & D I thought that meant labor and delivery took me a minute good luck you guys

This is so funny. You don't need most of that. You'll be home before you know it. Looks like you packed for a vacation instead of a delivery, BUT as long as you're happy that's all that counts.
Onesie’s generally have like a V flap on each shoulders so they can be taken down easily rather than pulled up over babies head. From the UK
Lol....When you leave the hospital to come home, you have got to load all that stuff back up.

Yeah I agree with Erin 😅 You won’t need majority of those items especially for baby. All you need for baby is 2 sets of onesies, 1 burp cloth, 1 blanket, car seat. Realistically you can fit your clothes, toiletries, indoor slippers in one suitcase. And one baby bag with baby items,electronics with chargers, and snacks. Just know less is better. The hospital will provide everything needed for baby. 💕🥰

I've never seen anyone pack so much to go have a baby lol Have a great delivery and enjoy it.
One thing you need to buy that everyone forgets is the huge uncomfortable pads. If the hospital offers theirs for take home, take them you won't find any better. Panty liners you won't need. You may need more than 2 bottles. You may want more baby clothes. Newborns tend to spit up a lot. Cloth diapers are great for over-the-shoulder burping. You will get it. I will pray for you for a safe and healthy birth and recovery. I have enjoyed your pregnancy videos. You guys are so fun to watch. Here is a hint though. Babies are not and never have been minimalists. They take a lot of stuff. So if I were you I would go to Target and triple everything you have. Don't buy expensive ones because they will outgrow them quickly. Babies will have explosions. You never know the heads or tails of it. You are having a baby boy which is another issue altogether. If it isn't in the neutral position he could pee out any exit of his diaper. This could make a change of clothes totally necessary. Always have enough clothes with you for the proper outing. A couple things, 1. forgo panty liners, many moms end up just going full blown diaper situation, it's so much easier and better coverage. 2. Since you have the journal and the camera, you may want some tape to stick in pictures to the journal next to what you wrote about.

Those pantyliners are going to serve you better around 4-6weeks+ postpartum. Use the heavy duty ones from the hospital to start and then some thick overnight ones that are breathable (you can get cotton-based disposable ones) for those first 2-4 weeks. I also really appreciated using homemade padsicles postpartum, which are pads you squirt with witch hazel and then freeze. Lots of great instructions for these online and they're great for soothing and healing (just don't get fancy by putting essential oils in there; alcohol-free witch hazel only). I was also really REALLY glad that we packed a portable fan, which was a godsend during pushing when I felt extremely hot from the hormones and the effort. I got a simple one on Amazon that had a misting feature. Highly recommend! You likely will not need the majority of what you've packed, but if it makes you feel more prepared to bring all the things, bring all the things. Whatever helps you feel calm and ready in labour is great, and for some that means bringing all the possible incidentals.

I have seen so many people doing their delivery hospital bags and man, oh, man, things have changed since I had a baby. I literally took nothing for the baby except a going home outfit and blanket. The hospital gave us everything we needed, including baby bottles. I am stunned at all the stuff people are taking to the hospital when I barely took anything at all... 26 and 29 years ago. All I was supposed to bring was things to help get me through labour like music and peppermints, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc.
I’m so happy for you guys!! Congratulations. I didn’t use a whole lot from my hospital bag. Since all of my births were natural and free of complications they pretty much sent me home after one or two days.

Oh my! Re that lady who commented about postpartum. That's just wrong so I hope she was making a joke but not exactly funny. I never had postpartum depression and it's never a given after giving birth. I willing to bet you'll be just fine and will fall madly in love the minute you, both of you, lay your eyes on your 1st born! 👶👪
