Straight pipes. That red truck was one of the worst running & sounding I've heard on here.

4.8 are notorious for having throttle body issues.
If it's starts to lag ,spit and sputter over 3500 rpm , it's most likely the throttle body.
$190 at auto zone and about 20 min of your time it will run like it's brand new.
The red truck has clogged catalytic converters.
I think my completely stock 2001 Silverado 4.8 sounds better than the red one lol, I'll be straight piping it though

YIKES! Definitely a big NO to the Magnaflow setup..... what was wrong with it?
Sounded more like a engine problem more than the muffler
i think it needs engine work, has a bad miss, plus I never seen a 1 in and 1 out muffler that sounds worth a crap.

Red truck giving that Magnaflow a bad image. Should've spent his money fixing it up first. If the engine is on its way out, I'd hack the muffler off and call it good, wouldn't spend any money on it.

Everyone says straight pipe but drive one truck with straight pipe for few days and you will get annoyed lol
If it's out the back like this, it's not loud in the truck. I ran straight pipes on my old truck in high school (no cats or muffler, sounded awful) and it wasn't near as loud as you'd think.
@@AdmiralRustyShackleford I have my 2011 Ford F-150 with the 5.0 had straight pipe with no cats 3” all the way it sounded nice but damn it got me annoyed

I bought a 2016 Silverado 2500 with 6.0 brand new and cut the muffler off and replaced it with a peice of straight pipe the 1st day i had it.
No muffler needed and everyone always compliments me on how good it sounds where ever i go and ask what muffler i have on it. Ive never been pulled over for noise and its just got a mean sound that isant over the top.

i have a 2005 z85 after seeing this im straight piping mine
I had true dual straights coming out like the side like the red truck and I had the cops called multiple times on me for them
I have an '02 Silverado with the 4.8 V8 in it and a single in/dual out Flowmaster Super 10 installed and it isn't loud enough for me especially at idle. Would you say a muffler delete would be the route I should go?
@M Jr. I ended up doing true dual catback straights with an X pipe and it sounds awesome!
@@mattkiser9965 I have the same setup and the same exact problem the super 10 on the 4.8 just isn’t quiet loud enough, but I wanna know how clean does the x pipe sound with those true duals.
@@keatonmoss7366 Honestly the X Pipe really sounds awesome with a true dual setup. As long as you leave the cats intact then it won't sound super clappy or annoying. I have true duals 2.5" diameter pipe with an x pipe and it is just about perfect for me. I have thought about taking the x pipe out just to try it out for a while but I'm afraid it will be too loud. If you want loud and smooth then go with true duals and an x pipe but leave the cats installed.

The thing about 4.8’s is they flow almost nothing at idle as well as all of them idling extremely low
seems like it rains a lot there.
There was no “Z85” package for those trucks, that’s just a 2WD owner that wants his truck to be a 4WD z71 so bad , I think his main focus is a tune up, not a $300 exhaust

My 4.8 has 272000 miles of being hammered and going with out no oil in the engine for months but still wont break at all , I been try to swap a 6.0 in but my 4.8 thinks it's God and refuses to die. 😐
