Agree with virtually all you say but the handling deteriorates at high speed when the panniers are fitted. Loaded panniers cause the handlebars wag disconcertingly so careful weight distribution is necessary. Also, handling in strong crosswinds (only) when the panniers are fitted can be extremely scary. A taller screen is essential - I've tried the tall Triumph screen but that didn’t cure the problem of buffeting at motorway speeds. Love my Tiger 800 and had it for 12 years, which speaks for itself. I do most of my own maintenance. Highly recommended purchase.
Best review on RUclips about the tiger, your video was the first one I watched when I was looking for information about the machine when I fell in love with the model 😅
Great review! Just put a deposit on a 2011 model, having never ridden one. Off to the Pyrenees at the end of the summer with the aim to take on some of the TET. Can’t wait 🙌
Great video fella 👍🏼 I Just bought a Tiger 800 It handles great and is well balanced 😊 Mine is 2014 model and has a noise when it hits 40mph but it disappears after 50 ish. Power is good but defo needs a 7th gear or and road configuration for touring 😢
great review, i recently bought the same model 2011 with a few extras, spot lights, alluminium belly pan, handle bar risers etc. the seat has 3 setting to set for yourself, its on the bottom of the seat itself, i recently moved up from a honda hornet cb 600 f to the 800 triumph, no regrets, the comfort and power is all there, it also takes the bmw connection for usb power output. the front end i find very light with full paniers also. they give off a big profile with the paniers on as you say cars see you quicker. but yeas again grest review il be holding onto my triumph for a while as there so enjoyable to ride.
Great bike and very in detail review. I really like it. Have to admit that it has a very strange key lock position for the seat. :) Triples are fun, always. Keep up bro, you got my like.
I'm on the hunt for my second ride, this one is one of the options. Looking for reviews and found an irish rider 🤗 I lived in Cork for almost 10 years, and might go back on wheels for a spin. Great review fella 👌🏻 All the best! A southern spaniard
Hi and welcome to the channel. Cork is a lovely spot. Can't go wrong with a tiger for the second bike. Be sure to look me up if your over my way for a spin 💯🙂 ride safe
Great review, and will have some videos soon myself. Just bought the ‘16 XR and absolutely love it for Colorado. The 2nd gen has a bit better fuel economy too. Keep up the great work, and enjoy those miles! Cheers
Thanks brilliant review you just answered all my questions and made up my mind to go for the road version 👍 funny you talk about power issue loads of people do this when I was younger and really in to bikes if you are 400cc you had a big bike 750cc was unbelievable, nowadays 800/900 are classified as mid range what’s up with the world car engines are getting smaller bikes are getting bigger. All the best keep clocking up the miles cheers
Totally agree 💯 we are getting very caught up with the engine size and now 1250's are considered the norm. thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Ride safe 🙂
Fair play, great review, I'd defo consider one myself in the near future ! Any bike that can put up that kinda miles without much hassle is worth it weight in gold
Always tempting to get something latest and greatest but these gen 1 800s are incredible value. Simple enough to do maintenance at home, enough power to have a blast and comfort for days on end. There’s really no need for more electronics than abs, especially if you want to keep a joke for years and many miles. I’m even apprehensive about ride by wire, it feels slow compared to the direct response of cable throttles.
Excellent mate really like that it's the perfect all rounder for travel and fun, I will take a look ta see what they are going for and maybe try one just ta see how I feel on one. I do like the Triumphs and if I could do it it would be an stable mate to my XJR for something different : ) cheers
I owned a Tiger 800XC back in 2014, enjoyed it but wished I had gone for the more road focused model with the smaller front wheel. Actually I think I did consider if I had enough power??? On an Alps tour my wife easily out maneuvered me on tight corners with a Street Triple then pulled away on the long upward mountain runs. Still a great bike but in the end I opted for more power and 17" wheels. Only recently checked out your vids and they are excellent.
My wife has a triple also, a very fast bike. I love the tiger but the XC is so much better for off road. Thanks so much for the kind words and I'm glad your enjoying the videos. Ride safe ...Dave🤙
Speed I would say the tiger has way more useable power right from take off to mid range. Handling would go to the gsxf, it was more responsive and felt more sharp. Comfort goes to the tiger hands down. If I had to pick one and only one and stick with it I would have the tiger
I recently bought a 2017 Tiger 800 XCx with 35k in Odometer. I was a bit sceptical about the mileage on the bike though, but your 122k odo reading made me really confident! Thanks a lot brother.

Very nice review 👍👍. Clean and informative. See you on the road
Really good review, I've had mine for a while now and was curious over what you had to say , an bang on all the points 😁 Good review buddy 👍
Great review. Never understood how people think an 800cc could be underpowered (most likely they have never ridden one).
Thanks 🙂 I Totally agree, was pleasantly surprised at how it preformed .

Love my 800 putting some motoz adventures on it for off-road

I Love mine 2013 🍻👍🏻✊️✊️
How tall are you for reference. Thanks
How does it compare with your Suzuki GSX F 650? Speed, handling, comfort??
Speed I would say the tiger has way more useable power right from take off to mid range. Handling would go to the gsxf, it was more responsive and felt more sharp. Comfort goes to the tiger hands down. If I had to pick one and only one and stick with it I would have the tiger
Good one. :) I suppose the Tiger is way more comfortable. :)

The 800 has less power but it’s a lighter bike. I think it’s a better option than the 1200.
I totally agree with you, especially if going off tarmac at all 💯
🤘👍👌
🙌🙌🙌 😊
I like it
Thank you 😁
There's a reason more people don't buy them.... plus it sounds like crap... weed wacker

You're obviously very bitter about something. Maybe you don't understand quality when you see it I'm sure when you grow up you'll understand
Then buy a Harley
