Holding onto a paraglider's bars might be difficult for many people, but you can easily make a climbing harness out of hemp or sisal rope and use that to support most of your weight. This would allow most people to use a paraglider fairly easily. Similarly, using rope solves other problems, such as hauling things up near-vertical cliff faces. Tie a rope around a large boulder or protrusion at the top of a mountain and you can attach a pulley to it, allowing you to haul or winch up significant loads. You can also tie down your Zonai devices rather than just gluing them on, which might help with structural integrity.

So the answer to the question of whether or not your average person can reach the Sky Islands is "technically yes, but most likely not in a million years", because no way your average Hylian would have the knowledge they'd need on the contents of the other smaller Sky Islands that they could use to then reach the big one, nor would they know where to get the things they need on the ground.

I thought about using the Hebra Mountain Trail to decide its location, but that thing is sadly VERY obscure. I tried using the flags as markers, but I keep finding dead ends or places that couldn't be reached by your average joe. Would you have any advice, oh learned one?
It’s a steep hike but technically possible to make it up to Hebra Peak by crossing Lake Kilsie, hopping off near the Sturnida Hot Spring, then up the gradually rising hill that goes north for a bit, then turns to the East. It’ll take you up to Selmie’s spot. So you could have your power plant on the Biron Snowshelf, atop the Pikida Stonegrove, or perhaps inside Hebra Peak! Good luck writing it, it sounds cool. Hope this helps!
Can't wait to take my wife and kids there for a holiday! But I wonder-how do we survive? I've heard rumors of caves with bomb flowers and other materials we can glue to sticks but will this be enough? Where would we sleep?

you havn't uploaded in 4 months are you ok, did some monster kill you while you where traveling across hyrule? Did you perhaps fall into this still world I've heard rumours about?
I would make my starting point from The Depths up to GSI, to add that extra bit of challenge, and to add on that extra time it takes to go from deep underground, to the surface all the way up into the sky. Find the most convenient starting point as an Average Hylian within The Depths, because you know you might of went deep underground exploring, or you fell in from some place or another. Firstly, you'll be in the pitch black darkness of The Depths with nothing but bags full of Brightbloom Seeds to light your way as well as a Torch. But I'm sure Hylians can have a magic pouch that can infinitely fill large quantity of items in it so storing items and what have you shouldn't be an issue. -- As an average Hylian within The Depths you'd want to find a facility that have a lot of hot air balloons, and of course, finding a chasm opening to be able to reach the surface. The construction you make also has to be able to fit up through the chasms leading to the surface too because not all chasms are wide enough to support a massive platform going all the way up, so we're talking a small wooden square piece wide. The biggest Chasm openings would be Central Hyrule, and Lake Hylia, as well as that hill-side chasm at Lake Hylia where Farosh goes down, all within close proximity of The Great Plateau. In fact I've even considered a route that would include riding a dragon up into the sky, and then reaching an island in the sky while riding them. A Hylian could go to Kakariko and hitch a ride on Naydra or Farosh if they happen to be within their paths, because they each go underground, and I believe Dinraal too goes underground too. So from The Depths you'd need a flying contraption to get yourself up to a dragon passing over head, and using their glider they can catch a gust up to the dragon once they're high enough and land on it to ride it back to the surface and into the sky. it will take some time when the dragon flies their routes.

Update: NOOOO not the horse!! Rip Your Average Horse D:
Now how do I get back 😅
How are we getting back down
