Being a singer myself. I have too say these women are ABOVE doing a show like this. They are THAT DAMN GOOD...!!! I HIGHLY doubt their is anything these coaches could teach them that they don't already know. When your operatically trained like these two women must be. That's sets a bar WAY ABOVE everyone else.
so I met Barbara on music tour in Italy and she is now my first voice coach...funny thing is, they weren't even trying to be on this show. She told me they sang in front of someone high up on the voice production list and that individual told them they should go on the show and they originally declined....Then Barbara said they talked about it and got asked again and basically said screw it "we'll do it" …then ended up making it to the second around, literally not even really trying. Cool thing too is, she told me there was a young lady singer who they picked up and began mentoring, she ended up being the one that knocked them out of the contest and she was so proud of the young lady...Barbara is a god sent being for sure. she's a voice coach and therapist for me hahaha

I remember Carla singing in my Church Choir when we were kids! She stood out above everyone even then!! You go girl!!!
Opera is the hardest singing style there is; so to be even a bit good at it is an achievement. I think most people are intimidated by Opera singers.

Certainly Americans are intimidated. Europeans are more accustomed. They're introduced to opera from an early age. I've heard street sweepers singing operatic arias early in the morning in Italy, while they worked.
It comes across as high-brow, but this is one of the most well known opera duets of all time.
More annoyed it took them a while to realise it was two people, it’s called the Flower Duet for a reason!
I cannot even express properly in words my feelings when hearing such magnificent voices.
This is even too sublime for this show somehow but I feel honored to listen to them!
I don't get it how can they speak while listening to opera!
I have a feeling that they would have done better if they had gone with Sir Tom. It's a pity no classical singers were chosen this year, though.

This is my favourite operatic piece. Every time I hear it I think of British Airways and going on holiday as child to wonderful places. It brings back warm and fuzzy feelings for me.

This drives me insane... This is real singing and it has minimal views compared to the others. These woman can sing better than 90 percent of the competition yet have no fan base because this generation in ignorant when it comes to talent.
joey allen I agree. We get fed main stream pop on a daily basis that people tend to forget what real music and real singing is. They are both incredible...
Peter Frances Why do people think classical/opera is the only real music? Last I checked adele or sia sing just as much as this girls. So how can you say these are real singers, and pop singers aren't?
It may not be the only real music, but it was one of the very first kind of music, and it is the most complex of all.
This pulls on your heart more than most other genres, plus these women are perfectly on key
People think? People know. I sing opera and it takes on average 15-20 years to train an opera singer. Also, you have to read and play music.

I agree... After watching this, I understood Danny’s reluctance. It’s not that he doesn’t want them, it’s realising that he might not have that capacity to coach them vocally as classical singers.. might end up doing harm to them than good vocally.

I dunno why, but i got tears in my eyes from listening the first time to this, somewhere around 36/37 seconds the first tear showed up and slowly a few more followed over the course of the song. Simply breathtaking, beyond ghostbumps for me.

Thank you so much for bringing opera to the show (I'm trying to learning this song, but it's so hard as I'm not a French speaker!). The X Factor hasn't had a classical singer in the finals since Rhydian in 2007, so it's good to see The Voice giving other genres a chance.
