Brief video of some Pre-65 competitors, including Guy Martin. Not a perfect, i.e. professional, video but gives a 'flavour' of the event, includes a few well-known faces.
Very good video, thoroughly enjoyable. The only snag with any video of this kind, and it`s nobody`s fault, is that they can`t convey the severity of gradient, but that`s by the by. I did feel for that poor chap at circa 16.00
Hi everyone. ... I used to school boy trial and now 48 years young...lol I want to ride twin shock or pre 65..where can i find the info on classes.... acu doesn't really show it as it states different areas have different classes.... weird
Thanks Richard, I have some footage of the pre-65 Parade to upload but I could do with editing it first: if I get time.... if not I'll do it anyway, I don't claim to be a professional! Roy.
It was indeed George. We met him just before the start whilst he was sat in his van. He looked slightly uneasy at that time but it seemed to be more to do with the amount of people who wanted to talk to him than the event itself. It didn't seem like his type of event but at least he tried and in full public view! His 'Rolls Royce' overalls, racing type boots and skateboard helmet made me smile. Sadly no event in 2021 again due to the pandemic. Roll-on 2022.😬
In essence yes, but the regulations are somewhat more complex. A great way to get involved in trials. If you are interested take a look online for a local trials club, join and get involved. You can also research the ACU and AMA sites and if long distance trials appeal also take a look at The Motor Cycling Club Ltd. Whatever you do, have fun!!
superb footage. what a location too. love the machines.
and of course.... Mr Martin legend.
Thank you for this. I never did trials, but I did once have a TRW, so great to see one at around 8:20, also the s.v. BSA. Again, thank you. Les

Some wonderful riders.
Nice video. There seem to be a lot of BSA Bantams which were not greatly abundant in the day.
Excellent video and thanks for posting.
Cant wait to do the 2017 SSDT, although i wont be doing it on a pre 65, i still really enjoy watching it. Thanks for the footage.

Guy is faster on the IOM.He gave it a shot.
So pre 65 is basically just the engine and bits of the frame of a Pre 65 bike the rest of the bike is a bitza 🧐🧐
