*Great for a family of 2 or 3. It cooks quinoa, white, jasmine **MyBest.Kitchen** and brown rice really well. Easy to clean and store because of the size. We haven't used the steamer part of it yet.*

all rice is filthy AND full of starch straight from the bag trust me. Wash the rice thoroughly first before steaming and you will taste the difference. Pop some cardoman seeds in. Wrap the tuna in some tin foil and add a little white wine and some sliced lemons for added flavor. Thanks for the review have ordered one as my old one bit the dust. The element eventually gives out.

Thanks for the review. I have this and the instructions do say to wash the plastic parts before using...otherwise finishing chemicals leaching onto your food without doing so - eek. Also, no flavour on your fish? Some sesame oil or ginger would be really nice with what you cooked!

May I ask why you don't measure the rice and watter that you in the box? I am not really sure that the rice was so perfectly done

I just made rice and it was absolutely delicious. I used 1 mug of rice to 1 1/2 mugs of water.
First I cleaned the rice 3 times until the water was clear and left it to soak in the water for around 30 mins.
Before I steamed the rice I added 1 tsp of salt. I know the idea of the steamer is for the food to be healthier, but I can’t eat rice without salt lol. I also added cumin seeds and sweetcorn or you can add peas and potatoes. Whatever takes your fancy!
I put the timer on for 30 mins but there was still some water left, so I just put the lid back on and cooked for a further 20 mins. It came out perfect!
Before serving I seasoned with fresh black pepper and chaat masala. If you can, try Shan Chaat masala from the Asian store, it’s so worth it!! Tastes delicious sprinkled on rice or chips or pakora.
I though I made too much but my kids ate it all within minutes. I did manage to have a taste and it was so yum! Lol
Also made potatoes but again they took longer than 30 mins. I used Maris piper potatoes. Total time 50 mins for everything to be cooked properly.

Only put distilled water in it. No scale.
