Absolutely. Think about it: Woodson, Greene, Lloyd. We're always among the leaders in sacks(as a team). They earned the nickname Blitzburgh. And if it weren't for Neil O'Donnell gift wrapping 2 INTs in Super Bowl XXX, they might have won that game. I kinda doubt it but maybe lol
Loved these 90s videos! Wow great memories of great men that wore the black and gold! A couple of players I wish we never let go elsewhere including Leroy Thompson and Deon Figures. Thanks!
Leroy Thompson was from my hometown in Knoxville, TN. He played his high school football at one of my rival schools. He was a beast at the time, and he and the rest of his team dominated my team when we played them, and they eventually won the state championship that year (1986). Interesting that he would end up at Penn State despite the great recruiting efforts by our hometown college Tennessee, but he was impressed by Penn State coach Joe Paterno and knew he had a better chance of winning playing at Penn State who ironically was coming off a national championship season at the time.
I'd seen highlights of this game back in the day but I was unaware of how lopsided this game was and I didn't think the Saints were 6-0 entering this game. I also forgot that Bill Cowher just 2 years before the 93 season was DC for KC.
The glory days of a rock, solid defense. They were constantly intimidating like a swarm of bumblebees. The ‘ playmaker ‘ D we need if we’re going back to the bowl.
What a defence
That defense was scary good

Good stuff! Man, I miss hearing Dick Enberg's voice!

Man Kirkland was underrated. He about killed that Qb with that hit!!
@@davidpollard4051 I still remember the game where a TE took him 40 yards down the field and kirkland got the INT.

ROD WOODSON IS A BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Long Live 26.....the best!

Thank you for another great video!
For some reason this one always stayed in my memory all these years. Weren't the Saints 6-0 coming into this game??
Me 2 & yep
ALWAYS LIKED Ron Erhardt OFFENSE
Me too! One of the best OC the Steelers ever had.
We need to bring Woodson back.
Out of retirement
He can still do it!

Lloyd's face mask was intimidating in itself!
93 was a weird season. They looked unbeatable one week and terrible the next
That line probably could've gotten me 1,000 yards that season.
Eric Green what a monster. Now they can draft the 2023 version in Darnell Washington
Also, 14:34 , .... cRunCh
Lets goooo banger incoming
Back when the defense had a coach
And the offense might of had a real OC 🤔😢😆
Quit it
If only we had a high level QB in the mid 99’s we would have 2 more rings at least
Woodson is my all time favorite athlete. Why throw to his side of the field? You deserve to be intercepted if you throw into his coverage.
Good thing the running game was so good. Stone and Graham as the starting WR's?
At 2:20 the Saints' head coach looks like a statue.
15:08
this is what the good old steelers used to do to bad teams, now under Tomlin they usually lose to really bad teams
The saints were 6 - 0 coming into this game.
Playoffs?????? Playoffs?!?!? I just hope we can win a game!! Sit down Jim Mora... my Steelers beat your team’s ass!!
