Marking what is undoubtedly a seminal moment in Andrea's career, the concert was not only a childhood dream turning into reality but the validation of Andrea as one of the world's true superstars, and featured an all-star cast including Celine Dion, Tony Bennet, David Foster, Chris Botti and many more.
"That was a memorable milestone in my career. One of its highest and most emotionally overwhelming moments. A mega-show that took 16 months of work, as well as a brave and ambitious artistic undertaking. A concert that went on to become my first fully live album, for which every note was recorded live, without a safety net.
I remember how anxious I was about those lead gray clouds that threatened the cancellation of the performance, with 70,000 people converging on Central Park. Shortly before going on stage, I wanted to go to my dressing room to say a few prayers, together with Filippo Sugar and the rest of those present. I also mulled over the great honor I had, to be singing together with many of my wonderful peers, right where my great friend and Maestro, Luciano Pavarotti, had performed 18 years earlier.
I also remember lovingly dedicating that extraordinary evening to the memory of my father, who - although he had never crossed the ocean - would continually encourage me when I was still a young artist unknown to most people, saying with prophetic lucidity: “You must go and sing in the United States, you must go to New York. They will appreciate you there, they will perceive the quality of your voice! It was his dream, dictated by his fatherly love for me. With the "One Night in Central Park" project, that dream has come true."

THE Bocellis are the MOST BEAUTIFUL FAMILY. They just RADIATE LOVE FOR EACH OTHER. This little girl is soo well poised and spoken asking her Dad questions. What admiration for each other. Like her brothers, she is educated and speaks Italian and English so well., not to mention talented too for her young age. The whole family is musical. I had heard Andrea sing, but his music really got me thru Corona when we had to quarantine and be away from everyone, especially family. Mine lived in another state and being alone, I found interesting facts on this wonderful family as well as listening daily to Andreas beautiful, mesmerizing voice. So calming. Thanks for this video of daughter, Virginia and her dad..legendary Andrea Bocelli. 💗❤💗

@@sandravick5756 he has. I remember when I was homeless before I got on disability from getting hurt when I was younger. I would listen to him. I was sleeping in the streets and eating what people gave me. Can't get much poorer then this. But I was able to listen to him threw RUclips. I still had my cellphone that I kept charged. And now even when I got off the streets and was able to use my back pay to get a cheap RV, I listen to him. I can't blame anyone for me being homeless. That was my choice to be a firefighter and get hurt. But little things like this guys music kept me going and with some gusto in my step even though I had nothing to be happy about.
When he was young and working in bars to support his family. Maestro Pavarotti reached a helping hand to make him known to the world. Andrea is not a celebrity type, he is humble, nice, his family is everything, his house is full of friends and colleagues musicians.

The concert was so beautiful. I watched it when they streamed it for one day on 9/12. This interview was very good. I truly admire Andrea not only for his talent but for the person he is. Virginia speaks amazing English with no Italian accent. She is clear and well spoken. Beautiful young lady. Andrea is humble and full of appreciation for his life experiences. This family is full of love for each other. I really enjoy the special bond Andrea has with his daughter and with his sons. When Matteo and Andrea perform a duet there is so much love shown for each other. It is beautiful to see.
